I compared Amumu W versus Galio Q.
Galio Q base damage: 50 / 80 / 110 / 140 / 170 per tick
amumu W base damage: 5 / 7.5 / 10 / 12.5 / 15 per tick + 0.5%/0.625%/0.75%/0.875%/1% maxHP per tick
The only time our melee champion's per tick base damage is better is if the target has above 9000 / 11600 / 13333 / 14571 / 15500 maxHP.
Like wtf rito, really? Maybe it can be justified if we put it in terms of dps since Galio Q has cooldowns, right? Nope.
I calculated the damage in terms of dps at each rank and here's how it turns out:
.....Galio Q dps vs Amumu W dps
lv1------15 dps vs 10 dps
lv2------26.67 dps vs 15 dps
lv3------41.24 dps vs 20 dps
lv4------60 dps vs 25 dps
lv5------85 dps vs 30 dps
For Amumu's W to do damage just as much as Galio in terms of dps, enemy target's maxHP needs to be 1000 / 1867 / 2832 / 4000 / 5500. wtf rito, dis is even more unacceptable
Now lets compare the AP scaling, cuz hopefully that justifies the difference shown above: Amumu: 0.5% maxHP dmg per tick per 100 AP. Galio: 0.9 AP ratio on inital hit + 0.2 AP ratio per tick + 3% maxHP per tick per 100 AP.
Why is Galio not only allowed to have 6x the scaling of Amumu on HP% damage, but also up to 150% AP ratio? I cant think of any other champion that has 150% or higher AP ratio on an ability that's also under 10sec cd. So is Galio supposed to be an anti-squishy with the 150% AP ratio nuke, or is Galio supposed to be an anti-tank with the 9% maxHP per 100 AP?
If anyone wants to say that "but his Q s predictable tho. If u get hit by it u deserve it", just keep in mind that there are soo many other champions with counterplayable skillshots but none of them ever has more than 100% AP ratio on any of their abilities, and if there's one and I didn't list it, the cool down is probably not single digit like Galio Q.
Worst of all, Amumu needs to put himself into danger to make use of his ability. Galio can do superior job from distance safely. Can Amumu get some love and/or can Galio get the needed nerfs?
EDIT: as suggested on comment, I also forgot to mention mana costs. However, by the time the AP ratios actually matter,
would take care of the mana issues for Galio while
takes care of it during laning phase when AP ratios don't actually matter.
