Lee Sin is still around 18% play rate

For all you people that don't know, that high-ass playrate is the cause of his lower winrate.

Lee Sin isn't weak, nor is he """out of meta""" - or else he would be passed up for """more superior picks""" and not maintain the highest jungler playrate.

Edit: Let's make this even more clear, because people are throwing around the phrase "fun to play" like nobody's business.

If Lee was legitimately in the dumpster, doing little to no damage and being easy as fuck to kill - despite all of his hyper-mobile shenanigans - that wouldn't be fun, now would it? Regardless of how interesting or unique a playstyle, if it doesn't actually work, it's not going to be appreciated.

Lee Sin has always been effective, hence why he's always been "fun to play", hence why he's always been meta.

Lee is kinda out of meta now, but not because he is bad, it's because he is not a item 3193 item 3190 item 1413 item 3109 champion (usually)

Once that whole ''ADC es numero one'' meta is over, we will all regret those buffs.

Slythion9/6/2017, 1:14:05 AM10 votes

Or he's just a fun champion to main with a large and dedicated playbase

he's always had one of the highest play-rates in the game. always, even when he was trash tier (yes, that has happened). To pretend like people only play champions because they're the best is such a large jump that ignores so many factors is ridiculous.

People will keep playing him no matter how much riot nerf him simply cus hes a fun champion to play

Ethan Allen9/5/2017, 10:15:54 PM4 votes

Honestly one of the reason is that he is fun to play, so people play him if they get autofilled.

He could be gutted to a 30% win rate overall and he'd still have a high play rate. Other champs that are played regardless of power/if they are meta or not are Riven, Yasuo, Vayne, Ez to name a few because they are mechanically challenging and fun to main

I haven't seen Lee Sin since 5 bans came out.

When are people going to understand people just enjoy playing the champion. I hate lee sin but my god does it feel good to knock the enemy adc into your team during a teamfight and stuff like that. He has the jhin syndrome. Jhin had a super high playrate and people were complaining so he got nerf after nerf. Until recently he has gotten some buffs but i think riot realized their mistake so they aren't just going to put lee on the chopping block just because people like to play him. Just my thoughts. Have a great day everyone!

If he has high playrate that doesn't mean he is good. Like idk maybe people just consider him FUN and he has a high SKILL EXPRESSION unlike Chogath Rammus and whatever else is meta right now?

I agree completely. You can't look at the winrate alone. You also have to look at the play rate.

Meanwhile in reality land, braindead ADCs such as twitch have around the same playrate with a significantly higher and plain absurd winrate.

FlyingRoboticCow9/6/2017, 5:33:59 PM2 votes

Hes got a high play rate because he's not total trash but is still insanely fun to play

Rebonack9/6/2017, 5:41:38 PM2 votes

Riot always buffs Lee when Worlds is just around the corner.

WinTheWarOnPants9/6/2017, 7:11:17 PM2 votes

Considering the average LeeSin main is a literal potato, he would need like a 30% winrate before he's actually weak lol

WrÆth9/6/2017, 8:04:20 PM2 votes

Downvoted, needs more quotation marks lad. Quit slacking.

(This is satire. I can't believe I actually might have explain a joke, but if it comes to that, I will).

In all serious though, Lee Sin's playrate is so high because he's one of the most fun champions to play in the game. Right now we are in a tank meta. Lee sin probably won't be played till tank itemization gets nerfed and picks like elise and nidalee come back.

In the warden introduction post, I thought we agreed to remove posts exploiting hate and outrage for upvotes. Lee sin is not in meta and won't be for a while. All of these upvotes are from these "lee sin is braindead and easy to play" idiots.

Lee Sin isn't weak

Uh, if Lee Sin's 47% winrate isnt weak, what is?

For all you people that don't know, that high-ass playrate is the cause of his lower winrate.

Are you sure? Explain Jarvan, Sejuani, and Gragas then.

Doodlzzz9/7/2017, 12:15:02 AM1 votes

Lee is in a good spot right now; I really don't want his state to change... ever

Sohleks9/7/2017, 1:24:29 AM1 votes

Riot balancing around winrate at least 50% of the time just keeps enforcing the status quo. Its been the same shit for years.

You can be sure if your champion has a few lcs big plays not everyone can do all the time and does teamwurk and not a peasant bruiser/assassin stuff Riot will keep your champ good (most of the time). But it's okay because them Bruisers with their 4 year old untouched kits and counterplay added to counterplay assassins can have 50% winrates in yolo queue even though their players might be elo depressed relative to their "same skill" peers and also be easy to deal with troll picks in actual competitive gameplay

I know Lee Sin falls into that class but his kit basically trascends the melee standard sort of like Fizz and Olaf (mainly Olaf as Fizz is "supposed" to be squishy)

The assassin rework initially looked good to me until it turns out Riot isn't serious about letting assassins be competitive despite their supposedly increased skillcap
