Rank system question

Ok, so i really need someone to explain to me how the rank system works. I have noticed that when i win games i only earn about 12-16 LP a game, but if i lose i lose 20-24 LP. Why is this and how are we supposed to rank up if when we lose, we lose the progress of 2 games worth of LP. Me being silver 5 and trying SO HARD to rank up, but constantly losing tons of LP due to AFKs or arguments, this is making ranked extremely un-fun to play and casues me more stress than it does enjoyment. Why isn't the LP system balanced for wins and losses?

Ranked gains are based on hidden MMR. If your hidden MMR is below your current rank, your LP gains will be lower than your LP losses. Similarly, if your hidden MMR is above your current rank, your LP gains will be higher than your losses.

Based on your match history, you're being matched up with Bronze 2 MMR players. This means you're at the level of a Bronze 2 player. Until your MMR improves, your LP gains/losses won't equalize. In other words, you need to win more games than you lose to improve your MMR. The LP system shows this - you need more wins to equalize those LP losses.

Confusion like this is why I think it's silly to hide MMR in the first place. People can figure out where they are by looking at who they're matched up with anyway, why not just show us the raw MMR/Elo number like they did in the past.

your mmr is probably down to b2 level. You spiked or placed into s5 and then loss more than you won. Dont worry a lot of placed s5 players have b2 mmr.
