Anyone Else Having Difficulty Carrying?

I'm kind of a math nerd. I've tracked my stats for every game I've played for over a year, analyzing variables to see where I need to improve. After about 1,000 or so games of data I was able to determine that as long as my KDA was above 3 and my kill participation was greater than 50% my chance of winning was well above 50%. This knowledge allowed me to climb pretty easily at the end of season 5 with close to a 70% win rate.

However, in season 6 things are completely different. Even though I'm averaging a KDA of over 4 and a kill participation over 55% my win rate is barely above 50%, which is over a 10% drop in my win rate when compared to similar stats from season 5. On top of this, I've had quite a few games when I've had a KDA of 6 or higher and a kill participation greater than 75% and still lost. Last season anomalies like that never happened, not once in over 700 games, and yet this season they seem to happen roughly 20% of the time. This strikes me as a very huge problem and I feel like I don't have much control over it, which is incredibly frustrating because I don't believe in elo hell and I firmly believe that if I play well I will climb.

I understand I suck. I understand I can always carry harder. But at what point do we call the system a little bit absurd? If someone who is playing better than they did in season 5 is seeing greater than a 10% drop in their win rate then isn't that a sign that something is very, very wrong?

I just feel like match making is atrocious this season, individual carrying is harder than ever, and comebacks are even more unlikely than in season 5. Anyone else having these problems or have any advice?

Could it be that your opponents are better skilled than they were in season 5?, And thus, you have hit a wall in your current skill and must make immediately effort to find the issue at hand and resolve it.

I considered this but if my opponents were much better then my stats wouldn't be higher than they were in season 5. The only stat that's gone down for me this season is win rate while my cs/min, kill participation, KDA, etc have all improved.

i mean, personally i think kill participation,cs/min,KDR, act are all meaningless if it doesn't get you that sweet victory screen at the end of the game. right? Are you still actively and mainly trying to focus objective? Towers,Dragons,Barons,Riftys,Inhibs?

Objectives are all i really care about in the game, stats just provide me with an objective assessment of how i did in the rest of the game. Logically, if I have better stats with the same objective focus as I did last season my win rate should be the same or better. However, the opposite seems to be try by a significant margin. I don't know how to explain that.

........are you getting objectives after kills? Doesn't matter if you get 50 kills in one game if you never push for the win.

Yeah, if I get a kill I always push the tower. Usually I'm the first person on my team to get a tower and then I'll roam and try to drop the two other outer towers. As a jungler if we get a kill or force the guy to back I'll help push the wave and get some tower damage and look to drop some wards in the enemy jungle.

I believe the difference is Dynamic Queue, The reason I say this is cause sometimes your a solo player vs. people who are duo or more, and they know how to communicate more and work together efficiently, or your team has a duo/trip/quad and your excluded from the shared information making you do something while they do other things so there is a lack of communication, before it was mostly lack of communication between everyone so it was easier to carry.

I mean, people could already communicate using curse voice or any other software to make group calls. Its just that people in groups are more inclined to use the software

Very good point. As a solo player I do feel like which ever team has the better premade usually wins and that people communicate far less.

I prefer to play solo though. Guess I'll have to wait for this mythical solo queue to come out.

Me and my friend both have to be in carry roles to carry a game.

Ex we lost if he's adc and I'm support.

But if he's mid and I'm adc. We can win easier.

There is a meta shift towards champions that snowball earlier than last season. What champions are you playing? Perhaps they come online later than this season's point where the game has been mostly decided (barring people not capitalizing etc) so that when you are online, the team is far enough behind that you'll still lose. Additionally, death timers are more punishing of mistakes particularly late game.

Edit: I'm not trying to point blame. Merely curious if what I'm asking is a thing. I too have been seeing something similar (though I am support so I don't carry... at least shouldn't. ;))

For ADC I've been playing mainly Lucian and Miss Fortune with a pinch of Corki and Tristana.

For jungle it's been pretty much all Diana and Malphite.

I do definitely feel like game snowball much easier. I've tried to adjust my play style to accommodate this by ganking and roaming more frequently but it often feels like my allies are outclassed by their counterparts. Quite frequently I'm put in a situation where all 3 lanes give up kills without the enemy jungler ganking, leaving me in a triage situation where I just try to stop the bleeding as much as possible. I don't blame my team, I just think the matchmaking is really, really off so far this season.

This season it's a lot more important to focus on split pushing if you want to carry games instead of team fighting.

no because i actually lift so i can carry lots of stuff

Do you even Doublelift?

I've also noticed this too. I keep track of win% per last 20 games in relation to KDA and kill %. Idk if this is just a strong patch or what, but I have had multiple occasions where I see a KDA above 3.5:1 and participation verging on 50-60% and still averaging a 40% win rate. Then again, low elo can muddy the statistics for anyone. Either way, if it's not a patch error I would definitely blame it on behavior or weak ban rates attributed to tribunal.

You're right, it does seem particularly worse in the last patch or two. I figured it had something to do with my MMR and that the matchmaking was messed up since I started the season at a 60% win rate but it might be a patch issue. Then again that evidence could just be correlation, not causation. It's definitely something that needs to be looked at though.
