I think what he means is you can use it summs to cancle. Example: Renekton flashes on top of me while I ult, I want to Cancel my ULT with a Barrier/Exe or a flash . (currently you can't)

Riot doesn't make a difference between QoL buffs and QoL changes, why should players? He's allowed to use his trinket without canceling his ult, why shouldn't he be able to activate Summoner Spells?

That's a buff. Xerath doesn't need buffs.

Quality of Life changes change how YOU interact with an ability, not how the ability interacts with summoner's rift.

This is a straight up buff not necessary for Xerath to succeed as intended.

Vel'koz and Malzahar can heal/barrier while ulting so I don't see why Xerath shouldn't be able to. Flash has to cancel it though.

Don't see why this shouldn't be allowed. Due to the nature of Xerath 's ult, he can't really take advantage of summoner 4 , summoner 21 , or summoner 3 since he's still a sitting duck meant for attacking out of the effective range of those summs.

I have a different idea, give him an interesting passive that isn't just a crutch to make up for his high mana costs. It literally exists solely to justify giving him way higher mana costs than the average mage, and in that case, why not just lower his mana costs across the board and replace the passive with something else?

So that he actually has to interact with the enemy laner and doesn't sit behind his minion wave from minute 1 csing from miles away. His passive isn't a crutch for his mana costs, it's just all a way to make Xerath play League of Legends without a sniper rifle.
