I think conquerer is going to be most problematic on skirmishers rather than juggernauts like darius

The main reason being that conquerer is in the precision tree, which utilizes a lot of stats that juggernauts generally don't feel great getting compared to the entire tree that is resolve and even many parts of domination and sorcery.

For champions like irelia, jax, warwick, shyvana, etc. however, precision is great.

This is especially true with the true damage conversion which has diminishing returns for high armor pen champions like darius.

But you know who might be disgustingly oppressive with this rune? Ironically, Nasus this guy. He can build almost pure tank and output disgusting levels of damage right at the beginning of a fight with his Q and R even without his E. Converting 20% of siphoning strike to true damage might honestly just break the ever-living shit out of him. And remember, general combat is the only requirement for readying the proc, not combat with specific champions. Darius will pretty much never have the ability to proc conquerer and noxian might at the same time, most likely, darius will proc conquerer and then have to stack his way up to might to really make great use of conquerer. Nasus just needs to hit the minions a couple time, and then when he goes to proc conquerer, can press R and go from 0-100 in less than a second after proccing conquerer. The AD waste won't matter, the true damage conversion for spammable siphon strikes will be the real gold.

There's nothing wrong with being scared of a champion like darius or illaoi (cleaver build) with conquerer, but you may be surprised at what the real abuse cases lurking in the shadows will be capable of.

Q max Darius for true dmg bleed poke is going to become a thing. And it's scary as hell.

Darius has always Q maxed is this a meme?

The true damage has incredibly diminishing returns since darius E and cleaver can basically allow darius to reach almost 50% total armor pen anyways, and his dunk is true damage anyways. Plus precision as a primary tree feels pretty bad on darius.

well, first of all conqueror on juggernauts would hardly be a problem, since the rune was made to be aimed at fighters and skirmishers. hence the 4 second windup timer (bruisers tend to be focused around sustained damage and are expected to stay in the fight for longer), and the bonus condition for melee champions to be able to sustain the buff.

but generally speaking, the rune is shit on everyone imo. its being too overhyped. the problem is the longass 4 second windup timer which makes it actually kindof bad in and out of the lane phase.

fights generally dont last that long in this game anymore for the rune to be effective and useful. its more common that either someone dies or disengages from the fight before the 4 seconds pass to activate it.

another problem is that a lot of skirmishers and fighters are gated around cooldowns. basically when you go in on an opponent to fight him and youre using all or most of your cooldowns within the first 4 seconds of a fight, you dont really have anything worthwile to benefit from the buff once it activates.

like imagine Garen Renekton Riven fighting an opponent, and 1 or 2 seconds after they chained their abilities, the rune activates and the buff kicks in when they already want to disengage from the fight to bridge the time until their cooldowns are available again. kindof pointless if you ask me.

that makes the rune mostly useful for fighters who are auto attack focused and not cooldown gated like Shyvana Udyr Aatrox Jax Olaf Yorick

but all those champions are already those who synergize well with press the attack. there is no reason to take conqueror on these champions when press the attack gives them the instant benefit and conqueror still activates towards the end of the fight.

True, anyone that can stick to their target and want a prolonged fight can use Conqueror well, Yorick and Shy have a % HP damage and that can then become true % damage. something that is gonna destroy tanks.

In lane, conqueror acts exactly like grasp, so you're gonna be in combat with minions and take trades when it's stacked. It doesn't activate 4s after dealing damage to a champion only. Creeps work too, the timer of conqueror's duration just starts when you first damage an enemy champion, just the same way grasp is consumed and cd restarts.

I don't mind if champs like Darius become VERY strong with this keystone, because he has a ton of counterplay, like you know, just running away.

Can't run away from a 90% slow for what seems like an eternityNasus

Honestly Nasus likely won't care about it one bit. That rune tree doesn't help him at all during his weakest phase of the game, particularly considering his main counters will be taking this new keystone against him. Nasus will have a weak early game again.

Which is good I think because at the moment, it feels like his early game isn't nearly as weak as it should be for how strong he becomes in the mid to late game.

yeah - purely aa melee champs will be abusing the hell out of this. champs that are caster-based will be able to use it, but not nearly as well.
