As An Azir Main I Approve of the Nerfs Overall

Hello fellow boards users!

I am an Azir main, I climbed from B5 to G5 with almost just him last season, and he has been my diehard main since his release. Lately, he has seemed undeniably strong, and I managed a 14 game win streak in ranked, which is the longest ive had in my life. He has been seeming extremely strong lately, and I spent every patch anxiously checking for nerfs. I have been terrified that Riot might nerf his scaling, which is one of my favorite things about him. When the fateful day came, today, I saw Azir in the Surrender at 20 PBE update post, and I just thought "f**k, it finally happened". And then I read the changes, and was somewhat pleased.

Post if anyone doesn't know what I mean: http://www.surrenderat20.net/2016/05/517-pbe-update.html#more

The tower damage part of his W has always seemed a little overloaded, and while im not too happy with it being removed ENTIRELY, I would prefer a hefty nerf, I understand and approve of the direction they took. Tower wreckage appears to be reserve for Ziggs's W, not Azirs. A nerf would probably be better than removal, but I consider it a decent exchange for retaining scaling.

The change to his ult im somewhat more mixed with. Removing the move speed is defidently a good change, it was unnecessary and certifiably overloaded as a part of his kit. I greatly approve of this path of action.

The duration change im somewhat less pleased with. Two seconds is almost pathetic, only serving as a brief thing to chuck people into towers or briefly peel. Two seconds is almost nothing. I agree that the time was TOO long and did need the nerf, but two seconds is far too much. Its just a lower range and somewhat bigger Taliyah displacement skill. So much shortening is out of line of its thematic too, a phalanx of defense for the commander to operate behind, or a strategic chokepoint to hold off an enemy greatly outnumbering yourself... for two seconds.

I still would say im in agreeance with the nerf, as its nerfing the correct things, but the ult duration to two seconds is out of line. However, I am confident that Riot will recognize this, and hopefully change it to something more like 4 seconds at all ranks, other than that, I approve.

GJ Rito! (not sarcasm =])

Note: I also just noticed the Stinger nerf to 35% AS. I think this is a fantastic tweak too, as sitting on Stinger and Codex instaid of combining for Nashors Tooth was WAY too efficent early game.

If the Aurelion Sol nerfs are any indication the overly punishing ult nerf will go through despite the outcry.

2 seconds? Terrible.

Yeah, that duration decrease seems a bit too much

I just started playing Azir seriously about a month ago. These changes scare me a little. I do agree with what you've said though.

At 45% CDR, tons of AP, I can shred towers like a joke. A slight nerf wouldn't surprise me much there.

The movement speed thing I don't much care about.

The Ult time being lowered to 2 seconds, bothers me. Maybe make it scale with level? 2/4/6 seconds? 2 seconds just seems like it would remove so much of what makes him so special.

You approve 38% win rate?

If Riot gives this nerfs, they must be buff his other skills.

Zhe only thing i'm still annoyed with is that he can clear wards easily from a save distance with his soilders, imo thats complete uneccesary hidden power on edgecases that hardly would impact your everyday soloQ azir, but is noticeable in proplay(at which the ners are mostly aimed) If he lost that, i'd be fine with 2/3/4sec duration, eventhough i hate playing vs azir and his ult.
