What if we do with Toxics that TitanFall does with Hackers?

And force them to play with other toxic/hackers? It'd require a bit of work to make a system to identify people but I think it might be worth it.

Riot has repeatedly said they won't support a Prisoners Island scenario.

They stress reform over punishment, again and again.

It is less than a year old. Things haven't changed that much since then.

Yes. they say this, but the autobahnhammar doesnt support that.

Prisoners island is like ELO hell, but unlike ELO hell, you can climb OUT of prisoners island. Just assign Karma to every report and have the automated system dole out karma (+ or -) Based on your chat messages and KDA.

Er, plenty of people escape Bronze, it's just difficult.

But what does KDA have to do with player behavior? Sucking ass at the game isn't the same as being toxic (intentional feeding, however, is a whole different matter).

A karma system does sound interesting, but I doubt Riot is ever going to institute a prisoner's island. The cons just aren't worth the pros, from what I've heard.

Autobanhammer? What about leaverbuster, low priority queues, normal draft games to be played before ranked is available (whatever that one's called), or chat bans? Pretty sure there's a lot of consequences before it reaches that level unless someone does something deserving of that kind of ban.

ELO hell is hell because the amount of feeders, trolls, and general asshats is so high.

KDA doesnt matter. But rito seems to think that it+win/loss makes you something.

Prisoner island, when the game was younger and MUCH smaller, doesnt make sense. But currently, we have a dilution where 90% of bad players and toxic players are IN bronze; Creating an ELO hell scenario which is MUCH more frustrating than prisoners island.

Leaverbuster doesnt work, as it doesnt take into account context (reason). Low priority queues are EXTREMELY frustrating, and are NOT a good thing. Draft games beofre playing ranked is okay. Chat bans are also extremely frustrating, for the same reason as low priority queues.

Wait, let's slow down a bit.

Low priority queues are frustrating, but a prisoner's island won't be? Now, I'm not sure I understand (I'm not being a condescending dick, I'm just trying to understand). I think I'm missing something here, but...

Alright, I'll entertain the idea instead of following Rito's philosophy like a puppy. Prisoner's Island has its flaws, so is there a way to alleviate some of the cons? Toxic people will be toxic toward each other, and reform will be much more difficult (they'll report each other, after all. And people trying will get reported for something as stupid as taking cs accidentally as a support). Do we remove some of the weight of reports of Prisoner's Island so people can reform a little easier, or do we have a number of games people in the island have to play in order to enter normal queues? What do we do, instead of just shafting toxic people together. We can't just abandon them, so how do we make this system work?

Removing the report weight of people who would be on Prisoner's Island wouldn't work, as then the bar for sincere reform would be set too low. Setting a flat number of games required for exit would work, at face value, but it IS going to guarantee reformers are placed with each other, in a concentrated fashion, as does the whole idea. Where do they find catalyst for change, in that environment?

It just doesn't hold up.

In reality, why do prisons work?
We put the people who cant perform in society into a place where they can, hopefully, learn the error of their ways and try to become a member of the community.

In LoL, the reason why ELO hell exists, is because the bottom few rungs are cesspools full of rust and decay because of all the bad plays, trolling, and generally toxicity. The only way to FIX that is to REMOVE the offending players. To be fair to everyone, this could be done with a karma system; We have a LEARNING automated system for the banhammer, why not, in the case of a ban, apply a flat -Karma, Ban from ranked, and put people in a "Prisoners island" Queue, and as the player is courteous and simply NOT toxic they will accrue +karma, and when karma equals 0, they are able to play in ranked again. You could have a seperate learning system for the banhammer program that learns "what good things are", and rewards players with +karma for doing them consistently (Or simply award people a flat karma for not doing any of the "bad things")

Chat bans would be something like 1520karma, game bans would be 3045 karma, harassment bans would be 5075 karma, and repeat bans would be 50100. ~ indicates what repeat offenses would get. "Perma bans" Would no longer exist with this system, merely apply an amount of karma as dictated by the riot employee in charge of the ticket.

Implement low priority queue with each respective offense.

They said that but then they turned around and made normal drafts a prisoners island and now I can't play that mode anymore... An actual prisoners island might be better.

Or, we can force trolls to play with other trolls. There would be a drastic decrease in toxicity if they just banned players that instalock mid with 5th pick, despite already having a mid lane, or punishing the players that just run down mid lane feeding.

and next to 0 chance they will ever not be trolls again.

Reform > Punishment if you want to actually make money.

You think YOU don't want to play this game with a few trolls and afks, what happens when that guy is playing with ONLY trolls and afks, that is a lost player. He either will not play ever again, or make a new account and troll again most likely. . . . . . . P.S: Picking a fking champion and role differently than what you wanted isn't bannable, calling your mom a whore and telling you hes going to eat your children is bannable. Just because someone isn't following your personal rules, doesn't mean they should be banned. Riot has a strict ruleset they use to ban people, and going to the "wrong" lane isn't one of them. And instalock is pretty okay, most players don't want to change the champion or role they were going to pick based on team or enemy anyway, they pick what is comfortable and that's great.

The reason there is toxicity in this game is because of people like you. "Don't punish the guy who starts intentionally feeding because he didn't get the roll he wanted, instead punish the players that asked him not to."

Lol. All I'm saying is exactly what riot has said in respects to champion reform in balance. I guess they are the reason theres toxicity in this game, not the fact its the most played game in the world and multiplayer, and every other multiplayer game with lots of players having the exact same problem. Its a people problem, not riot, it is PLENTY effective compared to what is possible with THIS MANY people. Relax.

Its not punishing anyone, its reforming them.

Also I've never been banned or chat restricted. "People like me"
