The Bully Syndrome
I'm starting to question the fighting spirit gestalt of the League community, if it ever existed, and most importantly where the hell it went.
As I've posted in the previous thread, this game has recently turned into a grumping party where it's a race to see who can surrender first; it's more depressing than an 8-hour expose on heroin addicts. As I've said before, it's gotten to the point where I'm starting to rally the ENEMY just to get them to continue to play. I should start maining Aatrox, because that's basically what I'm starting to turn into.
Based on a few comments I received in the previous thread, I've come up with a conclusion about the current state of the community, something that I call the Bully Syndrome. Basically, people will only fight against an assuredly weak, inept and incompetent enemy. Anything more than that and they turn into a lump, too scared to leave the fountain and eager to surrender even if you're still in the champion select screen. If you're steamrolling the enemy, they'll act like hot shit in a champagne glass and trash talk for HOURS in the all chat, even if they were crying defeat for the past 10-15 minutes before the tables were drastically turned.
It's not a fighting spirit. It's being a bully, only fighting if the enemy is so incompetent they could barely find the lanes and cowering in the corner if they show even the slightest display of strength. And yes, I don't like to call surrenders and I'll fight with every last ounce of ferocity I have no matter the role or champion or current state of the game until it ends one way or the other. I'm a remarkably fierce support even in the most dire of circumstances because dammit all, that's what this game is about! It's not a game about pissing yourself stupid in the corner crying because you're just the ever so slightest bit behind! If something goes wrong in your lane, ask for help! If you see a lane going south quickly, go and help them! You're here to play the game, so play it! Now get out of here!
