Would anyone be interested in adding niche ways to mitigate true damage?

I think the easiest one to implement would be for UNSPECIFIED damage type reduction to affect true damage, possibly by half as much instead. This would only affect Annie, Alistar, Gragas, Master Yi, and Warwick.

It would be nice to have a way to effectively deal with the 0-interaction true-damage Riot likes to tack onto champions' kits now, specifically the ones that snowball hard.

All of these champions could stand to be buffed in a way that doesn't affect their damage output anyway. It seems especially silly that Master Yi can still melt through an ulting Alistar.

Any other ideas that have a chance to counter true damage without overhauling how it works or being a balance problem itself?

######THIS IS JUST A DISCUSSION. I'M NOT SAYING TRUE DAMAGE IS A HUGE PROBLEM RIGHT NOW.

Well nobody should be interested, so I hope nobody is.

The entire point of true damage existing is for it to be a counter to mitigation. You don't get to counter your counter, they get to counter you.

The problem is that true damage is supposed to be just that: TRUE damage, meaning there should be NOTHING that blocks it. Unless we plan on adding a "for real this time, this is TRUE true damage" like Akali's "true stealth"?

So then how do we fix it? Well, for starters, Riot needs to remove the vast majority of true damage sources in the game, especially ones that stem from champion abilities. Every champion nowadays has some ability that deals partial true damage or true damage when it charges or when you hit them with some setup move before hand and- It's all too much.

There's way too much damage in the game and especially there's too much true damage in the game.

I remember when Ignite used to be one of the only forms of true damage, and now every champion made after 2016 has it somewhere in their kits.

Even as far back as 2014 there was plenty of true damage in the game.
