Can we get a response as to why Mages weren't given any Armor?

Because when ADs already have Duskblade and also get handed AD/Armor/Health/HealthPerLevel/Mini-Hexdrinker Rune/and more in some cases, I can't help but feel a little confused and concerned.

as a fiddle main it didn't help at all

seeing 400 to 500 ad champs Then stack the armor shred on it. Its one shot or be one shotted now. But you are correct AD doesn't have a lot of defensive things that will save them from the one shots.... well at least you have one immune before 10 mins or so...

Lack of decent defensive stats isn't just a mage problem. Nearly everything feels squishy now.

Well ad can get it from items they would normally want to build. Ap has to build an item that won't be ideal most of the time just for the resist. Its like ap is the red headed step child.

I mean...there are some decent armor items for mages. Some.

Sorc's Shoes makes Tabi a no-go...

...uhh, the Resolve tree?

Otherwise are mages SUPPOSED to buy a tank item? They're given health and no armor. How hard will that be to communicate to newer players lol!

I guess Banshee's Veil can help against AD champs as well and that's not an out-of-the-ordinary purchase. But mages still need some armor even beyond that just to not get instagibbed by a number of things.

Don't forget that all the extra damage they get from runes like Execute does adaptive damage, so now even that will deal Physical damage which probably works with Lethality and stuff like that...Last season Thunderlords was always magic damage, but now it can be physical to even add on to the strength of ADs vs AP.

Also for anyone suggesting stopwatch to be the answer, remember that the item only works 1 time and mages generally can't afford to rush a first item item 3157 (even if it'll be cheaper with stopwatch rune) unless they're playing a certain mage that can live without mana/mana regen. And...That even AD champions can grab stopwatch as well if they really wanted to since it builds into item 3026.

Because a lot of them were taking health over armor in their runes?

If you want to opt in to armor at the expense of other benefits, then the resolve tree exists.

Yeah dude I'm sure people took HP runes when the enemy laner picked Jayce. I'm sure nobody had a secondary runepage with armor seals. That would just be dumb, right?

And I'm sure it's currently impossible to swap your secondary tree to resolve for bonus armor and sustain.

Iron Skin is worthless. Are you being serious?

It gives you more than half of what you'd get from a full set of armor seals and it doesn't cost you any max hp that you would have instead earned from hp seals.

That means it has a net benefit of more effective health than swapping to an armor seal page would have given you and I can already say from personal experience that the rune has made a big difference when I've had to lane against Pantheon.

There are actually good defensive options in the rune system to help you survive tough lanes, the snowballiness of games right now is really the fault of players who aren't using those options because they're bad at math.

They also didn't give anyone MR so it seems like they want people in mid lane to blow each other up and they want ADCs to farm and have wet noodle fights, except they just get blown the fuck up by supports anyway so lol
