Pantheon is the pre-nerf Leblanc/Talon sh!t all over again

Estrogen Rider··5 votes·786 views

Point and click gap closer and CC Huge burst at level 3 Very limited counterplay Murders and destroys pretty much every squishy in the game in lane, including Nidalee. Is a terror to lane against Despite being a monster in lane, is only strong in the hands of highly skilled players because the champion falls off significantly late game due to having pisspoor waveclear and AoE damage

Sound familiar?

There's a reason he was given a dragonslayer skin, folks.

Lol pre-nerf LB has nothing in common with pre-nerf Talon safe for the single target damage. While Leblanc can reposition to a maximum of four times with her W and R(which is on like a 30 sec CD max) with a mini Shaco ult as passive, Talon has one targeted blink that can only be casted on minion, with a pretty long CD, and no way of resetting/lowering CD like Katarina or Zed. Also, Leblanc is ranged, and she doesn't trade with people; she just pokes them with half her all-in combo with no punishment. Talon, on the other hand, cannot go back to where he was when he initially casted his E, so often times he'd be forced to burn flash for going in at a bad time. Also, Talon's level 2 is significantly weaker than Leblanc's, and he lacks a reliable escape pre-6. His stealth from ultimate is easily countered by wards and champions with reveals, and he does NOT have a slow that TURNS INTO A FUCKING MORGANA BINDING after a few seconds. There is also the fact that Talon's silence is one second, while Leblanc can go up to 3-4 seconds(not sure) with her QRW combo. Worst of all Talon is melee, therefore vulnerable to pokes when he cs, but he has no innate sustain to keep him in lane, whereas Leblanc's ranged auto and Q, W, and E allows her to farm relatively safely even when behind. Please don't say these two champions are similar, it really breaks my heart as a Talon player--Leblanc didn't really need that silence to be a champion, but Talon's become one of the most subpar assassins who will always be a lesser Zed without his silence.

Is a terror to lane against

Is this actually true in higher gameplay? Because for me, I've yet to run into a laning Pantheon that has even been remotely difficult. The mana issues he has, and the fact that tanky/sustain characters in top lane seem to stone-wall him, and he never struck me as someone to be terrified of.

Now, Pantheon jungle is really strong, and looks fun to play to boot.

Talon and LB both have far stronger and easier combos to land that deal a lot more damage in mid to late game. They also have escapes.

Did Pantheon get buffed recently, or has Riot nerfed everythng else THAT MUCH?

The only major strength I see Panth having right now is his power in the jungle. His passive makes it very easy to sustain, and currently allows him to solo drag incredibly early. (I assume this will be changed in upcoming patches)

You forgot the solo dragon at level 2 bit.

Not disagreeing or agreeing but I'm just saying.

Level 1.

Level 2 with blue = faster, more safe.

Oh, totally. Just saying, it's very possible at level 1.

Except he can't go through walls, if he is smart enough to ward the other side to a monster camp.

Lv 1 with no damage taken is also possible

The best part about soloing the dragon is when some wise-guy that warded it comes over to contest the dragon. Meanwhile, you have full health, one of the strongest early-game champions at your disposal, and the dragon does freaking ridiculous AOE damage that you ignore and will basically 3 shot anyone else. Thanks for first dragon AND first blood =] Oh also he has a small attack speed nerf incoming on the PBE

Pantheon is fine, play a ranged champ like vlad, ryze or kayle. Preferably a mage, because he can get wrecked by anyone who uses spells instead of auto attacks. If you want a strong melee against pantheon try singed, the poison wrecks him hard. The range on his stun is really short too.
