Riot admitted that they did it because of And it's a huge slap in the face for everyone who uses other enchantments on Eve. Like we weren't oom 90% of the time already.

Most of the other jungle items are at least comparable to their non-jungle counterparts, if not better! item 3725 > item 3068 item 3707 isn't really better or worse than item 3142 (though maybe on certain champions) item 3930 isn't worse than item 3091 but it is hard to directly compare it to anything.

... but Runeglaive (100% base AD + 30% AP) is a worse version of Lich Bane for anyone who builds it (75% base AD + 50% AP) and also a worse version of Trinity Force (200% base AD) for anyone who builds that.

For the target you hit initially in the jungle, it does do more though, since it doubles on the first target, so vs the jungle runeglaive does more (150% base + 60% AP) but that's only to the jungle.

The deal with jungler items is that they are pretty cheap compared to their counterparts. Runeglaive costs ~1000 gold less then both triforce and lichbane. Which means you will get it earlier. Not to mention that early on 30% is not that different from 50%, but 100% base ad, now that's where the pain comes from.

True, but it takes up an item slot. Something like Sated Devourer or Cinderhulk can be kept all game and still scale well. Late-game, though, I'd rather not waste a spot on Runeglaive when other Sheen items exist. Magus at least gave you 80 AP and 20% CDR, comparable to a Morellonomicon, making it okay to hold onto until end-game (maybe you'd replace it as a fifth or sixth item).

That's the point. Runeglaive is way stronger at the time you get it then any other item of the same cost. If played correctly, you won't live to get your lichbane with other high ap items that are necessary for it to actually be stronger then Runeglaive. Don't be fooled by bronze sheeps who keep on complaining about devourer on boards. You won't reach your late game build if there's a JarvanIV or Pantheon terrorizing your lanes with their insane early game with warrior jungler item or runeglaive Elise .

Stronger builds cause more problems than weaker builds. It is therefore Riot's responsibility to balance for the strongest build.

If the best solution to an issue with the strongest build does not affect weaker builds, that is ideal. However, this is rarely the case. For the sake of overall balance, the weaker option must be sacrificed.

I am assuming here that the data shows that Magus is the generally the stronger option.

I like posing a question to threads like these. Riot thinks Evelynn needed to be nerfed. Can you think of a way to nerf her without affecting weaker builds? I can't...

ummmm well I guess ravage does hit twice, and apply on hit effects both times, so that means one ravage does on hit effects three times, and it gives her 120% attack speed so that synergies with sated and BOTRK. I guess it would be like a stealth version of Shyvanna.

So maybe you could try a weird build of Sated, BOTRK, Gunblade (The active CD is reduced by autos on hit), then tanky.

Probably not good, but lots of sticking power with the slow on BOTRK and gunblade, and might be a lot of fun

Sated Eve works well with her E and she does better as an AD Bruiser than an AP Bruiser.

So you use an item not made for her, and complain that she was nerfed because another item was better.

That's like me complaining about Tank Gnar getting nerfed because I like using BoRK/Runaan's Gnar. It's just not logical to ask for very good champions to avoid nerfs because you don't play them in the optimal way.
