Yasuo Mains are probably the ones who deserve the most sympathy.

So just imagine you decided to main Yasuo because he was fun.

You'll have to endure all the shittalk you're getting just because you're picking him, coming from both your and the enemy team because the champion is just so god damn toxic. The champion being toxic also makes it so that you will rarely even be able to play him because he will either get banned, picked by the enemy team or counterpicked by the enemy team. All the while mains of other strong SoloQ champions, some of them might even be stronger than Yasuo like for example Sion support, can reign freely without having to worry about bans or shittalk. Even if Yasuo is just mediocre he will get banned just because he is such an annoying pile of shit. You'll also get less recognition for good plays or on how you mastered one of the most mechanically intense champions in the game because not only does bias make you a supposed noob for playing him but there are so much other Yasuo mains out there that most of the other players will probably just be used to seeing them.

All of you guys out there, take the champion you are maining right now. Now imagine, you will only be able to properly pick him in like 1/4 of all games and when you do, you are automatically an unskilled asshole no matter what you do or say.

Yes, it feels terrible to be playing with or against Yasuo or having to ban him every game, but being one of them is probably so much worse.

Why should I pity Yasuo mains when they deliberately pick one of the most obnoxious champions in the game to be their poster child? It's not at if these people are blindly picking up Yasuo. Every comes to some understanding just how obnoxious Yasuo is at some point in their League career. This would be like you asking me to pity a kid who flunked his class because he didn't study or do homework.

Any statistic to base this on? Playing a champion doesn't automatically make you toxic.

My own experience. Too many situations when every lane is winning except for the 0/5 Yasuo mid who keeps flaming at the jungler for not ganking after the Yasuo fed the Vladimir that's able to 1v2.

Anecdotal evidence isn't really a statistic...

Not to mention, the human brain remembers bad experience much more vividly than good ones. Meaning that maybe many of the yasuos you played with/against were polite, but you only remember the flamers.

Also, you might have confirmation bias, and might be seeing yasuos who banter as being toxic, because that's what you expect to see

See this is why I main a "no-skill" champion like Xin Zhao. Everybody already 'knows' that I'm useless, so they ignore me for my flashier teammates. Makes it so much easier to get away with everything.

"No, that enormous amount of damage that killed me couldn't have possibly come from that Xin Zhao, it must have been his Ahri teammate."

"Oh no, they took all three towers in top lane! It can't be that Xin Zhao, must have been that Nautilus with him!"

"Oh hey, I bet we can 2v1 that Xin--- HOLY SHIT WHAT IS HAPPENING?!?!"

I don't feel sorry for them, though. They are intentionally running the experience for other players in the game by playing that champion. They are, in a word, selfish.

Doesn't help that Yasuo players tend to be among the most toxic people you meet in your games.

They don't go into the game with the sadistic intent to ruin your game. They go into the game with the intent of having fun playing Yasuo.

I mean I go in with both the sadistic intent of ruining people's lives and the intent of having fun playing a truly fun champion.

In terms of gameplay mechanics, you just wrote the perfect reason why Yasuo isn't 'getting nerfed' as most people want, because of his OPness he is getting countered this way.

I mean, I respect Yasuo mains who can play him. They deserve to rock in games and to win. What I hate is that when a seriously bad player picks him and feeds. Or, if a "Yasuo main" pick him and can't really play but he is unbelievably strong even if he can't hit single Q.

That's my cause, I don't main him but I sometimes play him, like every single other champion. I just can't play 1 champion more than 3 times in a row. And I got stomped early, but I came back and won the game easily. And I am not a good Yasuo player... This is what I don't like about him. Same goes for Riven.

As a yasuo main, I am guilty of that point. I am very competitive with my friends who also play yasuo.

Honestly, I think that it's good to have people who compete with you, and push you (and themselves to do better). As long as they aren't a dick about it, like your friend, i don't think it's a bad thing

I would pity Yasuo mains more if they didnt try to pick him in and lane imaginable and then feed. The only players who do this crap. Everybody else plays their mains in their main lane.
