The elo desparity
Okay so ive seen bronze 4 and 5s utterly stomp a game with low to high silvers in norms. Is it just because they play inconsistently or just play the wrong champs?

Could be inconsistency. Could be that they're playing with a group of friends who know how to play around a weakness. Could be that the opponents are not playing their main champs, and the low bronze player is. Could be that the low bronze player just hasn't played enough ranked yet to level up to where they should be. Could be a lot of things.
It could be many things. But it is also true that the league system doesn't always reflect player skill. My two accounts were a full five divisions apart last season (one in Bronze and one in Silver) despite more than a hundred games on each. After over 300 games on the lower account, I managed to close the distance between them.
It's fine to think about the league system as providing goals for you to achieve, but don't make the mistake of seeing it as an accurate measure of player skill. It's more of a wibbly-wobbly thing (as the Doctor would say when he tries to describe what time is).
