Nasus doesn't like it when his foes have range, especially in early game.

If Nasus and Vayne only met during late game, then yeah he would just obliterate her in 1 shot without giving her any chances to retaliate.

But when they meet early then it's different, Nasus is weak early and is vulnerable to kiting or any form of range harasses. Vayne doesn't have the greatest early game ever, but being ranged alone is enough to give Nasus some serious trouble during the early phase.

However once Nasus has rushed a Frozen Heart (assuming he doesn't just feed beforehand), the story changes.

Another thing to remember is if Vayne QSS's Nasus's wither the second it lands, then she'll have 7+ seconds to wail on Nasus without him being able to retaliate. That's enough to be able to deal with him.

His wither will counter all AD carries to some degree, but the rest of Vayne's kit is designed to keep her safe from immobile melee champions, so she ends up being better off against him than a lot of other AD carries. Any ADC is going to lose the same percentage of their autoattack dps from wither as Vayne will, but most of them don't have the same 1-person defensive mechanisms she does, so they aren't going to do as well against Nasus as she will. On top of that, she can get a QSS to mitigate the effects of his wither. He can't mitigate the effects of a strong knockback. Overall, it ends up being pretty favorable to Vayne. Nothing wrong with that.

Er... it's an odd situation but it's really not THAT big a deal. MOST adc's give Nasus trouble 1v1 early on. Thing is, most Nasus will eventually outscale and whup on. Not Vayne. Vayne scales insanely hard TOO and is very good at kiting. Nasus can slow her attack speed, yes. But that doesn't mean he auto-wins the lane and the game. Vayne does well against him because she abuses him when he's weak early and late game she's freakin' Vayne. Wither just means that she shouldn't be able to KILL him in lane unless he's an idiot. She can certainly deny him farm on her ranged harass alone.
