We need to get rid of shielding/healing allied minions.

It serves no purpose other than missclicking because your adc is in the middle of a swarm of minions and moving and missing your heal/shield for a minion, with the result of your adc dead when you could have just shielded/healed that turret hit.

Players will never appreciate the ability to deny cs to your opponents [zombie-nunu-tears]

Alistar + baron buff

Spam healing on tanky minions super annoying to deal with, or shielding bannered up baron buffed cannon minion is also a viable strategy.

Or keeping a minion alive so towers won't get their anti backdoor armor

Subtle things alot of players just haven't figured out yet i guess

I'm fine with Alistar. He heals all around. It is not a point and click thing that he could miss.

anyway here is a tip if you want to avoid missclicking then click on the portrait of the champion you want to shield/heal

learn to use the only champions button mate.

no way! It's always so fun to take banner on soraka and then follow that big siege minion while healing it all the way.

Can't you turn that off in the options? I haven't checked lately so I'm not sure, but I thought you could. It doesn't serve no purpose though. As Soraka I like to heal a minion before the enemy adc last hits it to deny farm.

Farm denying was something from DotA, where you could actually finish your own minions or turrets off if they were super low. Healing only messes up a little theyr farm but they can still kill them, so it is just a waste of mana and health for Soraka, and it stops being useful passing the 10-15 minutes mark.

True, true. It annoys the hell out of them though, haha

It stops being useful after the 10-15 minute mark, but at that point in the game AD carries will have established lane advantage if they were going to get one. Denying CS with those heals can be a really good way to put the opponent on tilt. It may not be worth on Soraka (I wouldn't know because I don't play her), but I do it with Alistar all the time and it's definitely worth it.

Definitely worth it on Alistar. If behind in lane, Alistar doesn't really have a way to deny CS unless he's able to aptly time his heals to prevent a couple creeps.

And he can heal himself and adc at the same time if they are beeing poked. Another nice bit of subtlety in his kit.

FWIW, it's useful to shield a minion as Lulu to position Pix to harass.

I've used shields on minions before as mid Karma. It makes some enemies (like Kat, if she used her Q to try and last-hit a minion) very annoyed when they miss the CS, and more likely to make mistakes.

No, shielding a cannon minion vs turret keeps it alive, thereby increasing the amount of damage the turret takes. That is a valid tuner of champion power.

What it needs to do is automatically target champions if they're within X range of your cursor.

Either that or people need to learn how to use hot-keys.

You think pros are manually clicking targets to heal and such?

But muh one-man siege with Karma!

Plus there's a number of keys you can press to use abilities only on champions. Learn to use them, scrub.
