The damage on her ult and the cc isnt instant so if you use it on someone and they die before the cc or damage goes off then you dont get an assist but the animation will finish and you dont get the cool down refunded. So you just have a wasted ult and no assist. Alot of other ults refund the cooldown if the target dies before the animation finishes

yeah i think the whole thing should be cancelled though cuz then you dont get the intended use for it
Goosetard1 votesI feel your frustration. One thing I find really frustrating is that it's super easy to accidentally ult yourself if someone jumps on top of you...
But with regards to your case, imagine a counterexample: Let's say someone on your team initiates, and you follow, e-ing into the enemy formation, dumping your ult on the adc, and hourglassing... only the adc dies right before. Your ult gets cancelled, everyone disperses, and, although you didn't need to STUN that one guy, your opportunity to land a 5 man ult and mop up the fight quickly is gone.
