Since WW Is Still A User Friendly Jungler...

What does that mean for Nunu in the future? Will Riot keep his q and make another beginner jungler or will they scrap the q and push him into the support role? Both have compelling arguments:

Jungle Nunu - has great sustain, somewhat good ganking potential, a second smite built into his kit

Support Nunu - has a m.s. and a.s. steroid, can spam e for damage and constant slows, q synergises with relic shield, is one of the few champs listed as "support"

I don't think keeping both alive is the best choice, I'd rather them choose to focus most of his power into one role and if he can do the other too then that's just a plus. But for some people who main or play a lot of Nunu what would you say is core to his kit? What makes Nunu Nunu?

This is a lie. The new Warwick is not user friendly. He's more mechanically complex than he originally was, and much more mechanically complicated than any other 450 IP champion. Amumu, Nunu, and Yi are now the starter friendly junglers, with Warwick being the intermediate level before you roll into more complex ones like Nidalee, Elise, or Kha'zix.

If you think he's user friendly, try getting used to the duality of Q (it now operates like Taliyah's W if you want to blink), or the insane noise on screen when Blood Scent goes off, or trying to manage the skillshot leap that is now R. He's not user friendly anymore. He got mechanically more complex, and probably shouldn't be considered as a starting jungler for those wishing to learn the role. If you are trying to learn the jungle, you need to focus on learning camp paths, gank routes, ward placement, buff management, how to gank and when, not how to deal with weird button commands and landing an easily interruptable skill shot. Yi, Nunu, and Amumu are mechanically simple for this reason. They are easy to grasp, easy utilize, and their kits are straightforward so that you don't have to change your understanding of how to use them when switching from monster camps to enemy players.

Passive gives free sustain, gets a defense buff as well as a fear, and ult still suppresses. He is slightly more complex but that's not saying much considering his current kit on live. Q is still the same just has the option of mobility, W is now permanent and global, E now gives cc where it was just an attack speed buff (he still gets increased attack speed from either passive or w), and R is now a skill shot. In all honesty he could not be easier if Riot tried. All that's is different is that he actually has a useful E, W can be activated instead of toggled, and R is harder to land. OH NOO ULT IS A SKILL SHOT GG WP RIOT KILL WW. No...

Give him a shot before passing judgement. I don't jungle, and I understand a wide variety of champions, and I found his kit to be hard to learn, and the blinking command for Q is clunky along with how to properly execute his R's leap. And while Blood Scent is global, the active portion is not, despite what the tooltip might claim or lead you to believe.

"W can be activated instead of toggled" (in my post) Not the point, believe it or not the post wasn't about WW. He is a user friendly jungler. You don't have to worry about dying to camps and w passive notifies you on when you should gank a lane. The post was about possibilities for Nunu but you thought WW was just too complicated and steered the conversation into a different direction. He was one skill shot, it's not rocket science.

The W passive does not notify you when to gank a lane, and this is another area where he is not user friendly. Just because an enemy falls below 40% HP and triggers Blood Scent doesn't automatically mean he's gankable. That mentality is the most sure fire way to end up feeding.

There's always exceptions to things that are learned naturally by playing (and dying), but an enemy being low on health is a decent indicator for when to gank, especially since Warwick can so easily dive under tower.

or the insane noise on screen when Blood Scent goes off,

This is purely for beginners to compensate for lack of map awareness. It basically tells you when an enemy is low enough to gank. His kit is designed to teach you about the game.

If you are trying to learn the jungle, you need to focus on learning camp paths, gank routes, ward placement, buff management, how to gank and when

This is all important, but the three basic important things for a Jungle is:

  1. What monsters do what and provide what
  2. When do I gank
  3. How can I survive in the Jungle

All that other stuff is more intermediate crap so to speak. If you can do the above three, you can Jungle at the bare minimum and Warwick reinforces all that a champion can reinforce, being the last two. The first is just experience with any champion, but Warwick clearly tells WHEN do I gank (aka if my W is up, it is likely a decent time to try and gank) and how can I survive (aka I can use my Q and Passive to survive). If I gave a new player Warwick (and I have a new player I am teaching) and explained the new Warwick to him (ex.: Q to deal damage and heal, W tells you when and where someone is to gank, E to stun, R to dash and stun), then they could Jungle no problem.

Support Nunu doesn't have a compelling argument at all. Nothing he adds to bot lane is healthy or interesting.

Jungle Nunu should continue to be supported with something similar to his current Q to keep him as THE objective control jungler as it is both the most iconic place for Nunu and the most clearly carved niche for the champion.

Thanks for the input!

You're welcome.

Agreed, Jungle Nunu offers a ton more than Support Nunu. When he was strong as a Support, he was basically just permanently giving your ADC MS/AS and permanently reducing the opponent's MS/AS without much interaction.

The new Warwick is not user friendly in the slightest. Oleandervine hit the issue right on the nose (pun motherfuckin intended). It's annoying seeing how many people are saying he's perfect for beginners; it's clear that they have yet to play him and they're gonna be in for a surprise when he's finally released.

I find the new Warwick perfect for beginners. Tons of sustain to survive in the jungle and an automatic "An enemy is low and easy to gank" indicator that is global and tells you where to go. Sure, he has some things that beginners PROBABLY won't make use of, but we aren't talking about mastering him. We are talking about his skill floor and it is still very much near the bottom.
