Galio feels useless

So far i've only tried Galio jungler, haven't done that many games with him since his rework though, it's kinda hard to call him, if he's not banned he's probably picked before you.

His clear is relatively good, but his ganks are kinda weak. It's really hard to hit with E, so the best way to engage is probably to pop summoner 6 , walk to the enemy and taunt, followed by Q > E > AA. He does have strong base damage so if the taunt connects, it's almost a guaranteed kill. His ganks are mostly hit or miss.

His midgame is decent since he can provide support quickly with his ult.

But the lategame is the worse, he doesn't have the kind of CC that makes him relevant when he's built tanky (he does have CC, but it's so unreliable and easy to dodge that it's hard to make any real impact.) And unless built full AP, he deals so little damage. Even with Liandry and Rylai it barely felt like i tickled the enemy with my Q.

Also he's a really bad initiator, he works better at counter-initiating.

It's hard to pin down the exact reason, but he feels so useless in teamfights. His ult barely has an impact, his skills are unreliable. He doesn't have the ''Oomph!'' That a Zac or Malphite has, nor the clutch taunts like his old self or Shen. He feels really lackluster.

I feel like unless they buff him somehow, he'll probably be optimal as a full AP that provides peel for the backline. You poke a little and make sure your adc doesn't get focused too much. And even then there are other champions better at this role.

I miss how old Galio provided a fearsome presence in teamfights, with everyone running away from him to avoid his ult. New Galio feels like a sitting duck when in the middle of a teamfight. Long cooldowns, little damage, unreliable and short CC.

It's a shame cuz the new Galio is hella fun until you start feeling useless.

I think he feels really fun. I've only played one game as him so far, but he still feels really impactful when played properly. Strong map presence, solid chain CC, decent base damage. Of course, I missed like half my Es and failed a couple of taunts, but I think that's more of a learning curve thing.

I don't think so, I think It'll be the problem throughout. I used to be a galio main but I have no plans to play him in the future. except maybe as a support.

Champion with 3 mass hard cc can't be useless even if he did negative dmg to enemies

Ok i'll compare Galio to Gragas for a moment:

Gragas' CC is way more reliable and way more powerful than Galio's.

He deals more damage.

His cooldowns are shorter.

He provides more damage.

He also has a damage reduction plus better sustain.

He can slow people from a distance.

He can initiate WAAYYYYY better.

He can peel better.

He can dash instantly AND over walls.

The list goes on and i can't find a reason to play Galio over Gragas except for his ability to have more map presence with his ult, which is relatively short early unlike Shen who is global. Or to maybe counterpick a mage mid since he can resist magic damage better.
