Lee Sin's blindness and Stealth

I was reading the PBE context thread and realized something interesting; Riot Colin, on that thread, specifically mentions that Riot is keeping a close eye on champion abilities that grant vision (with regards to power against stealth abilities). He uses Lee Sin as an example, stating plainly that Lee's Q gives vision and so does E. He's making a good point there, but this got me thinking... Lee Sin is blind. It should matter either way for him.

I think this is an interesting opportunity to give Lee some additional variation from other AD junglers. Lee should have some kind of "true sight" against stealthed champions near him. If that were worked into his passive, it might actually help differentiate his kit and introduce some risk to first picking him (as many champions have already).

I'm not trying to weigh in on whether or not Lee is OP or anything like that; mostly I'm curious about how the community feels about this kind of game change inspired by the lore. What say you?

thought it might be hard to make it different from RekSai

It might, but I think in Lee Sin's case it could work differently. The nature of Rek'Sai's tremorsense makes it so that she can only see their position, and only burrowed. Lee's (if I were designing it) would probably just be straight vision on the target if they were within x number of units.

It's a terrible idea because his very existence in a game would hard-counter stealth champions, similar to what Rek'sai does right now.

Plus, Lee Sin already has so many little bonuses and bits of unneeded power in his kit - he doesn't need yet another tool when he's already too much of a generalist who is good at everything.

Well, that's kind of the point of this, though. It's only possible to remove some of that power (and stop him from being such a generalist) if he's given something in return. He's MOSTLY balanced right now. The attempt of this idea is to stop the generalism and give you a reason to pick Lee Sin over someone else.

I'm also not sure it's such a hard counter. As long as they aren't targetable, it's still only a soft counter (compared to pink wards, anyway).

TL;DR You are right, and me idea is not to give him this for free. The idea is for it to help differentiate him and pull power from somewhere else in his kit, likely.

He already has true sight in his kit.

Yes he does. And that is why Riot was discussing him with relation to this topic.

I am talking about taking that to the next level, because he is literally blind. Why doesn't he have true sight all the time in a short radius? Now seems like the time to talk about it.

Because then he'd be better than Rek'sai in literally every way and she needs help.

Ha! Fair point, but still not a reason against it, imo. I would do it AND help rek'sai. No reason we can't do both, as long as we're dreaming.

But it also makes Lee a bigger generalist pick. I don't think he needs that.

If that's the ONLY change, yes, it would.

But again, if he were adjusted to add that and take away power from another place, then it could work. I'm not saying this change alone would work at all. I'm saying that Lee could be adjusted, overall, to be more thematically accurate, and this change could be part of that.
