When someone else dodges, give the player the option to keep what champion they had selected before the dodge. It'd save a lot of frustration imo. As for the situation where two people have the same champion, maybe give a heads/tails option or something.
There's no telling how many times I've gotten a champ I've been wanting to play, only to have them stolen from me due to a dodge, and then get someone absolutely no fun to play the next game that I've been seeing for 20 games.
i would like to add, so long as you have a re-roll available it will let you do this (so like it costs 1 rr for dodge protection, and if someone dodges you still get it back so long as that person wasn't you) (because if you dodge after re-rolling you dont get them back so then its kinda like added reason to not dodge in the first place)
Unfortunately, I can see how this can be abused. Leaving aside the fact that everything Riot implements these days is broken which would most likely mean that people would be able to get the same champion all the time (as if the randomizer wasn't broken enough), people, when for example, get Jhin who objectively is a extremely fun champion to play at URF, when they see that their team comp is Skarner, Trundle, Nasus etc (all mediocre/bad URF champions) they could just keep dodging until they got a team that would guarantee victory.
The thing is, its not guaranteed that only 2 people had that champ before a dodge, it puts you back into que where there could be dozens of people on that same champ, a heads or tails coin flip isn't going to help against the potential that all 10 people are from dodges that all had the same champion. It's a 1 in a trillion chance but it could still happen.
