It's 2019 and Diamond IV is still a cesspool of mechanical players with Bronze IV decision making

What are the chances of re-balancing the game and lowering damage so that people are forced to learn macro and improve their decision making, instead of incentivizing trying to make BiG LC$ PlAyS 24/7?

It's reached a point where there are so many of these players that they just balance each other out, and when their incredibly risky plays actually pay off, the amount of free gold for winning a lane allows them to continue playing like idiots without punishment.

I just lost a game where I traded lanes with our Hecarim, who cheesed the enemy Irelia at level 2, then killed her again at level 4. He then proceeded to dive four times in a row, failed every dive, and a couple minutes later he's level 6 while Irelia is almost level 9.

However, if he had succeeded even one or two of those dives, he would have snowballed out of control and won the game.

These players have too much ability to sabotage the game. This play style should not be rewarded.

This is the aftermath of an extreme early game snowball meta.

Chances? Never. And I don't think lowering damage is going to force people to play better for a lot of reasons that would make my comment way too long.

They just reset ranked so everyone from diamond 4 to challenger was demoted to diamond 4 right? I'd give it time to see if they were able to lower the bad players getting in. Also hasn't diamond 4 always been like this because of elo boosting as well?

" and when their incredibly risky plays actually pay off, "

Yeah, it works out like 40-50% of the time so they keep doing it even though playing it safe wins 55%+ consistently.

its really true though. people have decent mechanics but just don't know when to back, when it's pointless to try to make something happen, etc.

too often people just overextend at level 2-3 or chase and it's a pointless chase. the only reason they fought you is due to you overextending and not being there. all that would have been accomplished if I followed you is me losing exp/gold (im jungle btw) just to make him run back to fountain? You lose gold/exp too, so instead of just going back to lane, let's chase like morons? ok lawl

If they're all so bad, shouldn't it be easier for you to climb?

The problem is when the bad one is in another lane and rotates into my lane with 7 kills at 12 minutes, not when they're in my lane.

9/10 times, it's top lane or jungle player.

So, are you saying that your team only has the bad players, or that the enemy team is better at abusing openings than you are?

It happens on both sides, I'm saying that the issue is lane dependent.

If I just hit level 6 and my top lane is level 5 with 3 deaths, there's nothing for me to do. If my top lane has 2 kills, but then dies 4 times in a row, there's nothing for me to do.

There isn't anything to capitalize on unless they're in your lane, or in the case of throwing an advantage with consistently stupid plays, you literally can't do a single thing about it.

A 2 kill lead does not leave you in a 0 counterplay zone.

That being said, what you're ultimately sitting at is the exact same thing happens to your opponents. Your mid lane has the exact same chance to kfeed their ass off as the opponent. As does your top. Thus, the enemy adc/supp/jg/rivershen will get stomped similarly. And if everyone in your rank is bad, they won't handle it well, and you'd outclimb them on the games you can influence, as long as you played a statistically significant number of games. With how often you come here to bitch about this and that, I'm guessing you play enough.

Probably never. Diamond cutoff right now is top 2-3% of league players. It is impossible to allow that many players into diamond without it being full of bad players. Riot essentially redefined what each division means, diamond 4 is what mid plat use to be. Diamond 1-2 is what the old diamond 4 use to be.

The only "fix" would be to re-define the ladder so that all of the current d4 players move to plat, the current plat players move to gold, the current diamond 1 players get brought down to diamond 4 and the masters and grandmasters get spread among diamond 1-3 but that would also eliminate the whole point of addind grandmasters.

That's not the issue; players in Plat IV to Plat I consistently play better than most of Diamond IV.

The problem is that it's easy for mechanically good players with no decision making skill to climb to Diamond IV, because their opponents fall for cheese or can't deal with them playing hyper aggressively. Once you get to Diamond IV, it becomes a coin flip and any player who got there doing this can't drop because they all balance each other out, but they also can't climb.

tl;dr Diamond IV is the ceiling for handicapped monkeys, so they all climb to it and then get stuck there, the end result being that it's saturated with them. It's been collecting these players for years, and nothing has been done to mitigate the successfulness of these idiotic high risk plays.

That is because the floor for diamond IV is so low that even hadicapped monkeys can get there. The people who are have a ceiling and stuck at the top 3% of players would have been plat last season. However, since the floor moved down, those players are now considered diamond. Meanwhile, plat is filled with what use to be gold players so obviously the players you are talking about will never really fall down.

It all has to do with population distribution. There are just as many bad players now as there use to be. However, number of players in diamond increased so players who use to be hardstuck plat are now hardstuck diamond. You simply aren't going to find enough good players to fill up diamond as long as it is defined as top 3% of the playerbase. The players who currently are in plat 1-4 would do even worse if they were put into diamond 4.
