I wonder when I'm going to matter again...
I queue up just to play these days. Don't really care about winning or losing, because in 8 games out of 10, I've got absolutely nothing to do with the outcome of the game.
Either my laners feed relentlessly and there's a 15 minute surrender vote (that inevitably fails) Or my laners obliterate their opponents and we're pushing inner turrets by 15 minutes.
Every so often, I'll get a gank off and it'll snowball a lane. Every so often, my rift herald will matter. Sometimes I'll get a drake or two.
But in most games, my lanes are drastically losing or drastically winning by the time I've upgraded my jungle item, and the game is over shortly thereafter from snowballing. Win or lose, either way. I never had a chance to matter. I'm just following my team as they retreat, or I'm following my team as they push down inhibitors at 20 minutes.
So I just queue up for the experience of playing the game nowadays. Its not like anything I do matters. Someone's going to get hilariously fed and snowball the game out of control by 25-30 mins. Whether I'm in the game or not.
Just cross my fingers its my team that gets fed.
Now, granted, I've experienced a lot more long (30-40 min) games since pre-season. But not really that much. Here and there at best. So it feels like maybe Riot is taking steps in the right direction with balance changes. But we're still so far off from this game being strategic and fun like it used to be. Still feels like a team deathmatch where there just -happens- to be towers in the way. Its not QUITE as bad as it was in pre-season, but its still pretty ridiculously bad.
Hope they fix things soon. Anyways.... I'm off to go roll the dice in another normal game (lol @ people who play ranked right now) to see which team feeds and which team gets fed. I wonder if this will be a game where I can't get a gank off before my laners are 0-5, or maybe it'll be one of those games where my bot lane starts the game with 2 back to back double kills and we're pushing inhibitors before the enemy can even surrender.
Who knows...Wish me luck!
