New Masteries Create the Illusion of Choice but don't actually provide meaningful choice.

The Keystone masteries are interesting, but you can only have one of them. Also sinking 5 points for a single mastery is actually retarded. If you're going to get CDR you basically have to put all 5 points into that CDR mastery. No one is actually going to be like "hmm I think I'll put 2 points into this and 3 points into that" at the same tier. You're REQUIRED to put 5 points into that tier to move onto the next tier. In any tier, one stat is strictly better than the other FOR A GIVEN CHAMPION. So Rito is essentially creating the illusion of choice saying "oh you actually have 10 points to spend in this tier," when it's a fucking lie, since the only choice you have is "I'd rather have this thing over this other thing". Makes me wonder why bother having 5 points?? Also, the numbers on a lot of these masteries are definitely worse than some current masteries.

This new mastery tree also encourages following a strict 18-points in one, 12-points in another scheme and DISCOURAGES more intelligent choices like "actually I'd rather sink all my points into this tree" or "I want most in this tree and a little in the other two trees." No thank you, Rito. The keystone masteries are interesting, but not at the cost of EVERYTHING ELSE.

Or instead of whining about how they work now, learn how to get the most optimal performance out of your masteries like everyone did at the start of season 5 and move on?

There were no 'intelligent' choices with the older Mastery systems.

They were giant piles of free stats.
