120 AP item idea

K so it has an active that places a mark on someone, in the same way that akali q does. While the target that's marked stays within auto attack range of your champion either get a debuff or your dmg is amplified against them or they take %health dmg per second or get some kind of magic damage dot on them. or you could siphon health off of them per second... anyways some kind of effect you decide.

So the mark last like 4.5 seconds which is long. At any point and time while the enemy is in your auto attack range you can stun them by pressing the key your item is located on. Stunning them ends the dot/debuff.. you placed on them.

So the idea is to try to stay close to them for its whole during and let them take damage and threaten them from turning on you by stunning them.

This could help counter to katarina. especially if your team lacks hard cc. its sort of like a dead man switch. it says to kat players if you jump me ill just stun you. Works best if you engage her.

its also great because its guaranteed cc (not skill shot) which kat can be tricky to hit. This could be good on a brand for example because all too often by the time you set kat ablaze and stun her she already got her ult off.

The item would also have a short cdr of like 30seconds and can be reduced by 2 seconds for each successful spell you land on a champion.

I'd be very careful with this concept. It's likely incredibly overpowered.

We've got a 120 AP item (a really nice chunk of AP) that has some sort of secondary on-activation bonus damage effect. So far so good: this could be balanced.

But then we tack on a low-cooldown (that can be lowered further) targeted on-demand ranged stun on an item that's already appealing to most of the powerful burst-casters in the game. That gives them an amazingly powerful tool to get their burst damage on their desired target.

I think the active seems like an ability you'd have to put on a Tank item to really even think about balancing it: everyone else will get far too much benefit out of being able to stick a stun onto their attack pattern.

ya i had the same thoughts. The stun might be more tank/support oriented.

the cdr on it might be op. At first i thought it would be nice to have it reset its cdr often since i only thought of the stun idea part. Since if all it had was the threat to stun then a low cdr might be okay. since it would suck if you threat kata and she just waits out the 4.5 seconds. Then i thought itd be cool if you had amplified damage while the mark was up and they were in range.

I guess it just encourages proper use of it then. so i wouldn't mind having a long cdr on it. Kind of like u only get one shot, do not miss your chance to blow... this oppurtunity comes once in a lifetime. Kappa.

I do think that giving it a longer cooldown would keep it balanced though. Its kind of like the opposite of zhonias in a way.

and you could balanced it. duration of stun could be .5 sec. essentially its to end channels. like fiddle drain or interrupt a lee kick etc.

I'd still be wary. Even with a 120 second cooldown and a 1 second stun it's effectively a way of making sure that I can blow up their carry every two minutes.

I really just think a targeted stun isn't something that should be put on an offensively-tuned item. It seems much more appropriate on a support or tank kit than on anything else.

They already have a plan for a new 120 AP item. It's a AP Satik Shiv that charges on spell casts and movement (more on movement than cast, opposite of the current shiv) that when you reach 100 stacks, your next spell hit expends the stacks, dealing 100 Magic damage + 15% of your AP
