Didn't see a positive thread about anything that Riot does for like....a huge while. Yay no sarcasm.

Great PBE patch though eh?

Anything that rewards Urgot for all the mana he buys is a blessing.

Tbh you seem more like a Viktor main. Looked at your games and you play way more Viktor than Urgot.

I do, but I play more Viktor becasue when I pull out Urgot people think I am trolling, won't gank for ect.. If I pick Viktor, I can avoid all of that noise. I still prefer to play Urgot over Viktor though.

You honestly thought that nautilus needed to be nerfed? Fuck you.

Duke Anax12 votes

That is no nerf, previously Naut relied heavily on his shield damage, which was a problem because his damage would break with the shield. Now the Shield is defensive, with a slight damage boost.

However he got massive extra AoE damage early game which will greatly help his jungling.

LordKentravyon1 votes

Yes but lev 1 MIGHT be to harsh IMO, I need to test it to be sure.

Mid - late game looks solid but I feel that much taken off early will hurt the first clear

I did some math on the Nautilus changes.

Once you account that sustained damage is worth less than burst damage and the fact that Nautilus doesn't get 10 seconds out of his shield early on, I think they turn out to be some substantial buffs.

We also can't forget they are buffing tank junglers in general.

Nice analysis. I was hoping someone would run the numbers on the changes.

SecretAgentHulk3 votes

[Context: Scarizard commented on these saying: [1]"Yeah, to be clear - we want this to be a buff to nautilus. We're watching the W changes heavily." and [2] "E is flatly a stronger clearing tool at level 1, though. 40 mana, 6 second cooldown. His early clear is affected positively."]

Thefriendlyorc1 votes

As an old nautilus jungler I look forward to stronger ganks and clears for the Big daddy

Oops1 votes

u need to consider that the new item is a buff for him

Still no buff to veigar to compensate for DFG

How's that a nidalee nerf? Trap is only used to notice enemy jungler blindly walking into it in bushes or to proc her passive. Pounce is used for mobility. E is buffed.

Her early clears are fastest when she starts W, because % HP damage is very powerful against the jungle monsters of S5 who have no resistances but massive HP values in place of them. Bushwhack on a monster loses ~160 damage at level 1 now, and every time she uses Pounce per camp it's 10 extra damage lost.

If she starts Spear then it's not too important but Bushwhack is better for clearing, so this is a big nerf to Jungle Nid's clear.

Lane Nidalee's combo does more damage as long as she has 100+ AP at level 1, 200+ at level 6, 300+ at level 11 and 400+ at level 16. Bushwhack likely never catches up, though.

she has 100+ AP at level 1

100 AP at level 1?

100 AP at level 1?

Sorry, I wrote that badly. I mean at rank 1 of her ult, not actual level 1 (because at that point she won't have access to Pounce + Swipe). Essentially for every rank in her ult she needs to have 100 AP for the burst damage to be the same and anything above 100 AP per rank will be a buff.

Having that much AP early on is indeed impossible, so this is basically a small nerf early and a buff late for lane Nidalee.

AP runes + mastery + magus will give you over 100

Magus on level 1? Or even pre-6?

But why nerf her first and second clear where she arguably struggles the most if being played by a summoner who isn't properly trained on her kit or isn't quite the greatest at jungle camp kiting.

Her mid game clear is what needs hit because once she gets a little AP in her she just pounces all over the jungle just absolutely blazing a trail all over the map.

Don't ask me, I'm not the balance team :P It's possible they think a poor early clear will be a good enough weakness to offset her strong mid clear.

Oops1 votes

i think her clear is slower after the patch. max health dmg is really strong against monsters

Would to have really wanted to keep the Juggernaut enhancement though. Don't understand why we couldn't have a little more variety in enhancements and 5 in total.

I really liked Jugg on off-tank junglers such as Udyr, J4, Xin, etc. for when I feel like being a little safer early on or if I'm behind slightly.

That CDR, to me, is very necessary on certain tank junglers, perhaps more so than the burn aura.

Jongar2 votes

If there gonna keep the riftwalk as it is that could be fine. What they should do is give him back his silence and make his E 4 charges instead of 6. This way he still has to flank but trying to get his opponent will be a lot easier. Now he will not be Able to go in for clean ups and get out but do an Assassians job on taking out the weak.

A Small Dog1 votes

Awesome, thanks for the update. Looking forward to the extra effect on Tristana's Q.

LANWhale1 votes

perhaps we call it

the WOW patch?

ThePlasticSpork1 votes

Super excited for the size of dem Naut shields late game with the 25% bonus health increase from the new item.

Also, 40% CDR means his slow is only gonna have a downtime of less than 1 second at max rank. His shield is going to be weaker in the early to mid game because you won't be maxing it now, but you can max E for more reliable damage (no more 90% of DPS going away with shield popping!).

Also nice to see those Skarner buffs, however slight. Been playing both of these champions since S2.

Wheatloaf2 votes

Slow duration for Naut was dropped 1.25 seconds.

KaisadiIIa1 votes

Cooldown was dropped to 4 seconds from 10. Nautilus got really buffed this PBE cycle.

Wheatloaf2 votes

Yeah, but he was saying the downtime on the slow would be less than 1 second at 40% cdr, which would only be true for the old 2-second slow. With the new duration, the downtime is 1.15 seconds.

ThePlasticSpork1 votes

With 40% CDR, the cooldown on E is going to be slightly over 2 seconds.

With a slow duration of 1.25 seconds, that means about ~1 sec down time.

Oops1 votes

great patch on pbe!! btw i think people get 2 crazy about balance changes... balance is a long process and if veigar is 2 weak, they know and they will buff him and if vi and jarvan are 2 oppressive they will nerf them and i belive that if lee sin is 2 stronk he will get alitle nerf as well

LyraSona1 votes

Another great patch by the seasoned experts at Riot. Keep up the great work guys! Ashe

Sasogwa1 votes

This looks like a good patch. Hoping they do good work to buff Veigar and Kass in 5.6 (or maybe even 5.5)

Miku Lv991 votes

Patch is looking good so far. But there are still a lot more bad junglers like Evelynn that need buffs. Still, what's shown is a pretty huge step in the right direction finally.

Aura Master Fox1 votes

Happy to see Skarner and Urgot getting some love from Riot!

That title, i expected to come into a rant about lee sin not getting nerfed it seemed sarcastic.

LordKentravyon1 votes

I am concerned but not certain in regards to the naut changes, specifically the lev 1 hit to his W (40->15)

other then that it looks solid.
