Not having smite is too unforgiving.

If you forget smite on a jgler the punishment for it is stupidly harsh. Not having smite is bad enough, but not having ATLEAST machete is actually more severe than it seems. Especially in the new jg where everything just beats you into the ground. I'm pretty sure we are past the point where laners would take smite just to get elder lizard jg item... Can we bring back the old ways of smite not being a requirement to buy atleast the baseline jg items like and ? Accidents do happen... Also I'm pretty sure laners can't abuse talisman or machete in anyway. Even if they try to do a camp it would be a waste of time as they would get beat up too badly by krugs/gromp on top of lacking an actual lane item.

top lane and bot lane have both gone through times where they'd take a jungle camp before going to lane to get a level advantage. This is how they make sure jg gets 2 from 1 camp and other don't. It doesn't seem like riot wants this.

We shouldnt balance the game around something as silly as a player forgetting smite.

that reasoning is very outdated. Krugs/gromp take too long and deal too much dmg to come to lane with any significant advantage. you are also giving up lane items

just take smite lol
