The carrot and the stick

So I'm looking at the blowback regarding the end of season rewards, and I have to ask...

Have you tried just not being a shit? Did you really need this carrot and stick thing to start not being an asshole in-game? Didn't they also do this with the end of season rewards from last year?

Yes, I've had a bad game here and there and I've let my anger get the better of me, but these are rarities, and I work very hard to keep it under wraps, and I haven't been Inquisitioned once in the two and a half years I've been playing. It's not a difficult thing to do.

If your average language in-game is reminiscent of the examples listed in the 1897 special instructions to baseball players, if it makes the drill sergeant scene from Full Metal Jacket sound as innocent as the opening to Sesame Street by comparison, and your conduct is equivalent to an episode of Jersey Shore, well maybe you should start practicing some restraint and discipline. If you can only function somewhat normally in a 5-man premade, then there might be a problem with you, not the people around you.

i did it once, and immediately got 2-week ban.

just saying, idrgaf about the rewards (that morgana skin last year was BLECH), but could have something to do with the shitstorm. believe me or not, but I'm assuming other people feel their bans were unjustified. from no warning to 2 week-ban...wasnt even able to report the player i got mad at (who was also reciprocating the toxicity)

I can't speak for everyone, but from what I've seen, people who get punished tend to associate that punishment with their most recent game, not a pattern of behavior, or they just lack all hindsight period. One guy I used to play with before he left was holy shit toxic. He'd go into a massive shit fit over one death and would start dropping F and N bombs like it's 1940 London, and at two deaths, no matter how unavoidable, he'd leave his lane, sabotage the jungle, sabotage other lanes, and shouting down everyone with an ocean of profanity, and blame everyone else for the subsequent loss. And as you could expect, he was hit with bans and responded with surprise and offense, acting like he was being a bastion of civility until that point.
