Lee Sin is the reason Sightstone hasn't been reworked yet

People have been asking for Sightstone reworks for centuries now, and Riot doesn't seen to be doing anything about it. People have mainly suggest three ideas.

  1. Rework it into a support item? Riot would never dare nerf Lee Sin this hard.

  2. Make it a stronger item? Lee Sin would be buffed in consequence more so than supports and Riot would have to nerf him (or ignore a thousand threads asking for nerfs), which we know they won't since he was just buffed in the last PBE patch.

  3. Make into a trinket of some sort? Lee Sin would be buffed even more than supports cause he would have a free slot for either damage or tank.

How's it not a support item? I mean, it gives pretty sweet health, but that's... it. Just health and wards

I meant support-only. Similar to the reworked Hunter's Machete, albeit lane smiters have bypassed the original idea behind the rework.

I never liked that they made the items require smite honestly, but I'm glad people started lane smiting to deal with it. Anywho, I do see what you mean now. How would they make it support only?

Certainly some people make very bad supports in most cases (olaf, zed, corki) but anyone technically can. And many champions not classically supports can support very well. Malphite is tank/fighter, but he is a phenomenal support. Shen is another tank/fighter but he's great when you want a sustain lane with strong defense and punishing ability for overstepping.

Some supports like thresh also pack ignite in place of exhaust or heal, so it's not like we have a ubiquitous support spell. And it doesn't seem fair to force everyone who wants to support into running the utility masteries; they're good, but sometimes the tank tree, or even the offense tree is a better fit.

Any ideas in mind?
