Does Triumph really need to give gold?

Triump is a solid rune for someone who wants to burst and have that extra ounce of HP to survive... but why is there a free gold stat added onto it? Itemization is already hilariously cheap and this rune just gives free gold. Considering it is a highly used rune.

Does half of the utility runes in the game need to give bonus adaptive damage? No. But ghostshitter and his pet dog meddler are on the case so logic and sense need not apply.

Because if it didnt give any gold, it wouldnt increase snowball. Thats something riot wants to have to max. Snowballing.

I think it's to encourage it's usage on non-adc/assassin characters

it works off takedown which means not only 1 v 1 to death 1 hp difference battles, but things like assisting your teammates in a skirmish or a teamfight to get those kills which is nice as a support or a tank.

perhaps you failed to read the reasoning I was providing.

let's assume you are playing janna who is extremely easy to get assists with since tapping the E button on anyone at any point of before your teammates actually kill your enemy gets you the assist

you are 0/4/28.

that's 28x 25 gold per assist. Which is like 700 gold from the mastery on top of the assist gold

because you have a high kill participation, each assist is worth more. a similar point exists with tanks who will also accrue assists.

The short answer: no, it doesn't.

There's pretty much no reason to take anything besides triumph if you are using the precision tree. The healing by itself is really useful, idk why you need extra gold on top. It really does just add to the snowball problem.
