For my part, Taric rework is a failure..

I loved every part of this champion before his rework and now I feel like Taric is no more than a ult bot following Master Yi in funneling strategy and it make me sad honestly. Even in full AD comp, Taric feel weak next to any other tank champion. His W , Shatter was giving him a bonus of 30 armor at level 5 while lowering his target armor by 25 +5% of Taric Armor.. building armor felt nice and rewarding as you would be tank enought to go in front line, reduce the armor of your target for your team to follow. Taric also lost the knight fantasy with a shield , armour and being a protector. His heal is weak and not worth to get past level 2 as the mana cost is extreme for the low benefit it give. His Bastion give only armor to 1 target and doesn't give any armor to Taric any longer wich end in Taric being squishy for a Tank support and it give 20% of Taric armor wich mean if you don't build armor you basically give nothing. The shield also work with max health of your target wich make it fairly weak on marksman you are suppose to lane with and powerful with high health tank like Mundo that you will probly never have to link to because he is already tank by himself... it doesn't make sense at all. Now for his dazzle, this ability used to be a poing and click stun for 1 target. The duration was short to make it fair. This ability was fair as the missile speed was fairly low so your oponent had time to react before get stunned. Now we have AoE stun that can proc off your linked bastion. It's nice and strong when it connect but sadly, the delay and the fact that you can miss is really frustrating most of the time. Only wait I can get myself to hit a stun this delayed is from a melee carry with a dash such as Yasuo that dash in their face and even then you can miss if he is on top of the enemy. When Taric got reworked, the range of the stun was longer and a bit wider. It helped to hit your stun without risk , but it got nerfed and now you basically will miss it most of the time in the laning phase as it's slow, short and extremely predictable to dodge. Last if not the worst, his ultimate. Taric pre rework had 3 damage spell and a enhanced basic attack ( his old passive). Now he have 1 with 2 enhanced basic attack.. he lost a lot in term of damage potential. His old ultimate would smash his hammer on the ground, damaging nearby foe while providing Taric and his close allies bonus AD and AP. Taric would gain 30/50/70 of each and his allies 50% of Taric. so 15/25/35 respectively. It provided a nice boost for Taric to do damage and also boost his allies during teamfight. Now we have a delayed AoE invulnerabity with 2.5 second delay wich end most of the time in either failure ult or game changing ultimate. It's way to feast or famile ultimate to be acceptable and make Taric a ult bot, he have no more real contribution than that and it turned Taric the tank support into Taric the enchanter and destroyed the paladin fantasy Taric brought for his mains... The only thing that got better is his passive. Rest got destroyed and created a new enchanter that got overshadowed by current meta enchanter and is sitting there under meters of dust after multiple nerf after his rework... Taric need to be reworked again into something that he truly mean, a Paladin like he used to be...

Here is his old kit before the rework: http://leagueoflegends.wikia.com/wiki/Taric

Extra: His name went from the Gems Knight, to The Shield of Valoran... he doesn't even have a shield anymore...

You would be wrong. Taric's rework is one of the most stable rework they've done to date. He improved DRAMATICALLY from being the guy who simply stood still and pressed E occasionally while everyone just got stronger from his auras.

the taric rework is awful and robbed us of a truly soulful character

I played a lot of pre rework taric and honestly I loved his rework, its imo one of the best but I do feel like a lot of his power is on his ult

visually, only thing I would want is a cloak on the pink taric skin

He doesn't need a shield, he IS the shield.

Also, I kind of miss old Taric too. He was the trolliest of trolly top picks. I could only occationally actually win with it, but when I did.... perfection.

But he wasn't really good, or exciting, or really all that fun outside the troll potential.

Im with you. old taric was a monster. You could literally 3v1 squishies and come out on top. Everyone just expected that you wouldn't do any damage since you were a tank, and then you explode all over their faces while healing yourself. New taric lost everything that made old taric fun to play. the gimmick link that lets you replicate your tiny heal that takes way too much mana, the awkward stun thats insanely easy to dodge, and the HEY OTHER TEAM YOU SHOULD ALL DISENGAGE NOW BECAUSE IN 30 SECONDS WE WILL BE INVULNERABLE FOR 1.2 SECONDS ult.... Plus as someone pointed out you can't do anything alone now.

Side note:

His Bastion give only armor to 1 target and doesn't give any armor to Taric any longer wich end in Taric being squishy for a Tank support and it give 20% of Taric armor wich mean if you don't build armor you basically give nothing.

From his page:

Bastion TARGET RANGE: 800 COST: 60 MANA COOLDOWN: 15 Bastion PASSIVE: Taric gains bonus armor and links to his ally within 1300 units. While linked, the bonus armor and Taric's abilities are replicated on the ally, though the effects do not stack. BONUS ARMOR: 10 / 12.5 / 15 / 17.5 / 20% of Taric's armor

He does still get the armor bonus. The rest of the skill is a result of Riot apparently trying to remove near constant passive auras (similar to Aegis losing it’s aura), which does make the one on Sej for melees more odd.

Honestly, Taric rework was my favorite so far. I enjoyed him before, but I enjoy him much more now. I feel like I have a more variance options in builds (do I go enchanter for heal and shield strength, or go more warden style tank build?). Dazzle feels better to me because it’s more than a point and click and even if I’m not in range an ally might be, as well as interesting angles to hit multiple stuns. I enjoy the new playstyle a lot and was able to hit M7 with him before any other of My champs. I felt like I had the tools I needed to have in order to perform my job as a primary Warden/Enchanter. He still feels like a full tank support to me (heck, Q encourages building health and W and E encourage armor building still).

Also...

Taric pre rework had 3 damage spell and a enhanced basic attack ( his old passive). Now he have 1 with 2 enhanced basic attack.. he lost a lot in term of damage potential.

Aren’t tanks supposed to have less damage potential?

And he himself is the shield of Valoran, don’t necessarily need a shield to be the shield.

Edit: If you think he’s just an ult bot, I’m sorry but I greatly disagree, he’s way more than that.

Okay since my opinion is not well received concerning his kit, how about visually ? I can't miss having a shining armor knight?
