Why do i feel handicaped while playing my favorite champion?

Press Q Win·9/28/2018, 2:15:21 PM·115 votes·22,134 views

I love to play Ashe but whenever i play her, i feel like not being to compete with every damage creep/divers/assassins and enemy ADC. Everyone buy item 3147 ,item 3095 , or have dash/blink/ jump nowadays and without decent communication or teamwork, playing Ashe can be a real pain in the a**... Am i alone who feel this way? Not necessary about Ashe but about their champions ?

I think Ashe is in a bad spot right now... as is most ADCs who can't really build Stormrazor first item.

Hayaishi9/28/2018, 3:06:27 PM31 votes

Because Riot is balancing around champions they care about and ashe isnt there.

OP i have the exact same issue, Ashe is my second most played and trying to succeed with her is immensely difficult.

People have high range, dashes, speedups, blinks and who knows what else to just ignore the slow and do their thing, many of them also deal their damage far faster than Ashe does which makes it hard to even activate her Q before dying unless its already stacked on something.

It doesnt help that burst is insanely high right now, stomrazor, duskblade, buffed ignite and what else adds up so much damage that is basically meant to let a assassin playing well kill a marksman with selfpeel and a janna on them if the botlane pair cant stunlock that assassin right away.

So your damage takes too long to dish out, getting caught means instantly dying and your range isnt even all that much better than everyone else, and they have stuff like dorans shield and lifesteal if you should start to become annoying with it.

Then they all just outscale you so you cant go anywhere near them without dying.....stormrazor+zeal item.

This creates a situation where the only real option is to sit back very far, play passively and never do anything unless your jungler is around.

Which will tilt the ever living hell out of most of your supports, i´ve been there.

Of course its not entirely hopeless early but its still hard, Ashe is somehow meant to be a scaling champ with her passive and Q after all.

So my conclusion is unfortunately that Ashe is really not worth the effort, you could have twice the rewards for half the effort on someone else like kai sa, lucian, draven or even Jinx&twitch.

When I play Syndra, I feel so... sluggish, frozen even. Sometimes I feel tense, and I feel like I'm going to screw up so I play overly safe and let my enemy laner kind of take over. When I play my other favorites I'm so agressive and into it. Idk, it's weird.

I play Tristana and even if I do well on her it feels like a slog to win games... :( I feel like she just isnt doing well. Even with stormrazor as a crutch. Shes been way over nerfed

The overpowered champs are ruining the game and no one cares because people love exploiting the badly balanced ones rather than speaking against them.

Same, I main Katarina . Every other champion gets to deal their damage almost instantly and I have to wait almost 3 full seconds to do mine. Also omegaLUL she has a cast time on her Shunpo which causes buggy interactions and she relies almost entirely on this stupid thing item 3146 . FeelsKatMan.

I mean, why play Kat when you could just play Irelia Kassadin Akali Zed Talon Ahri Ekko Leblanc Yasuo

Ashe is a team fight oriented play maker not a duelest

2Charmnot2Charm9/28/2018, 5:47:37 PM3 votes

Once you get 3 items on Ashe she will take over the game, but of course the problem is your teammates not losing the game before that by not playing smart at all, and not peeling for you.

I feel like Lulu support is just bad now, she is much stronger as a solo laner.

La Bello9/28/2018, 8:20:58 PM3 votes

Ashe is actually balanced and designed around SUSTAINED damage meaning against anyone with upfront burst she usually loses. This normally wouldnt be a problem except there are a LOT up-front burst champs who also DOUBLE as sustained dmg champs.

Ashe is actually a reasonable champ who most importantly is BALANCED AROUND TEAMPLAY and is NOT SELF SUFFICIENT which nowadays simply doesn't cut it as a marksman. These days your champion has to have some sort of "edge" or OP factor to them that makes them able to compete along with being self reliant in order to properly function in soloQ. EX: MissFortune Literal teamwipe ultimate and DarkHarvest 1deags Caitlyn ->Headshot/traps 1k+ nukes Jhin -> Right clicks basically just deal 2x the normal damage at 6 item lategame. Lucian -> non-stop Dash and Blam nuking and is completely self sufficient to the point he functions perfectly fine in any solo lane Kaisa -> AP Assassin tier damage lategame

This is the main reason why Ashe,Kog'Maw and Sivir and sometimes even Jinx are so mediocre in soloQ environments. They're not built to duel and fight to the death whoever dives them or tries to jump them if they split. They are consistent DPS batteries built to play around a team with a solid structure(frontline+defensive support) which makes them a liability.

well in my opinion all champions with bad mobillity suck and ashe is one of them, can be easily kited or chased and killed, ashe needs a rework tbh and maybe add mobility to her e instead of that useless vision arrows

Immobile hyper carries got hit hard by the Shielding Support nerfs.

because I love ashe and Project Ashe is my favorite League skin of all time, I completely agree with you. The sad part is, just like Soraka... they would rather watch her be deleted than adjusted. I honestly would love to see SOMETHING added to her kit to give her some sort of damage.... hell revert her q back to be a few seconds longer... its not like she's going to do much more dmg anyways since Riot obviously wants every to have an ability that stacks and does 10x more dmg on proc (Jhin 4th auto, Kai'sa 4th Auto, Ezreal's new W, MF's autos in general.)

I play weird, so I will probably get flamed for telling you this :D I play a lot of "off meta picks" Ashe Ivern Karthus Nautilus as well, so I can understand how you feel, but I also like to play regular picks with "off meta runes". (Glacial Augment is the best rune ever!) I love playing Ashe right now as a lane bully. Wait what? With the new runes, you can find some pretty fun options, my favorite being:

Primary Sorcery: Arcane Comet Manaflow Band Celerity Gathering Storm

Inspiration Secondary: Approach Velocity (ALWAYS) -The last rune can be changed according to your playstyle, as everything in Inspiration Tree can be viable. Magical Footwear** Perfect Timing** Biscuit Delivery** **Note: I generally switch between these 3 as I play a lot of Blind Pick. But always take Approach Velocity.

The purpose behind this build is that in Early Laning you can punish with W (Volley)+ Autoattacks. The Slow provided from W (Volley) will guarantee Arcane Comet hits as well as: (Approach Velocity) Gain +15% Movement speed towards an Enemy Champion you Slow. (Celerity) Increase AD based on your Bonus Movement Speed.

This will help you land an those extra Auto Attacks. In Team Fights you will always have a huge AD Bonus from spamming Volleys and landing Auto Attacks.

I generally build Blade of the Ruined King -> Runnan's Hurricane -> Infinity Edge But each game is different so naturally it can change. Going back with 1300g and buying a BF Sword can bring you a huge advantage in damage early, transitioning into an early Runnan's can bring mid game power spikes in teamfights and good waveclear.

Anyways, have fun and keep playing your mains :) [slayer-jinx-wink] Syanite

I KNOW EXACTLY how you feel I always want to play Ashe all the time but i am just making it harder on myself when i could just play Kaisa orLucian

Wilyum9/28/2018, 10:38:10 PM1 votes

Riot doesn't like ashe, no new skins and she's old. Don't worry soon enough they will rework her and make her have super neato dashes and other stupid stuff no one ever wanted or asked for

Sir Prepuzius9/28/2018, 2:37:09 PM1 votes

i'm playing ashe lately, i think he needs a good peeler support to be effective since she can't disengage on her own an alistair would be perfect i think

Vekkna9/28/2018, 3:23:57 PM1 votes

How does Ashe's passive interact with Stormrazor, anyway? Does it actually increase the damage of her first auto? If she uses W-aa, does it give her passive 100% crit rate for that auto? Does it guarantee "crit" slow on the attack, and does the guaranteed crit modify the power of the slow?
