When she'll go away from toplane? Sourceless, with insane damage and mobility, with shield, range ult, strong early game, strong mid game, strong late game. Where is the balance?

I'm tired of replying to topics about Riven's overpower, but I am even more tired of people not knowing how to play against her.

hear, hear!

I won't say Riven isn't a lane bully and one of the biggest snowball champions of the top lane because she is, but I've seen people shut her down hard because they know how to defeat her.

The OP is a fool.

I agree riven is very hard to deal with i main mordekaiser top/ mid and supports. i pretty much hate seeing a riven at any point in time. now most rivens i can handle fairly well if i position myself between her and the minions to charge my shield before she hits me i can negate a fair bit of the damage but if i play support and i see a riven top i get real scared for the mid/late game when she starts ganking because she can pretty much dodge anything or out DPS you. just an all around scary pick, and their are champs that can counter her. gangplank, nasus tryndamere, mordekaiser and xin zhao. this is all provided they are veeery good.

How gp can counter riven? Trynd will suffer early, and if he'll lose lane he's done. Morde has no gapcloses, who is playing morde nowdays? Riven will easy outdamage Xin.

She beats Xin, and Mord; nearly 60% win rate against them. On average she also beats Gankplank. Out of your list only Tryn and Nasus are actually beating her, but that's because one gets to press R and not die while 2 shotting her, and the other builds tank/lots of armor then 2 shots her. That's assuming you don't feed her early of course.

Then tell me, open your secrets. I will thank you a lot.

Tryndamere is a very situational same with xin, trynd it seems would need to go all out and try keeping as much as possible when he hit's 6 to be able to killer while xin he would need to poke and heal up to escape to be able to have any real chance at a riven, also with gangplank just a matter of poking her down while staying full hp. and as an aside i happen to main mordekaiser and i can kill yasuo, riven (now at least) fiora is tricky but level 6 makes it easier the only person i hate seeing top is a yorick because if they are a good enough yorick player (needle in barn filled with hay rare) they are quite scary.

No offense, but you're unranked. This topic is about ranked games only. In normals can happens anything.

Their is a reason why i don't play ranked mainly because i don't like jungle nor am i good at it, but that's aside the point. I'd like it if you could not infer that someone is of a lower skill level and assume they no nothing of certain champs or lane tactics of said champs (this coming from someone who has read every lore and looked at every champions base stats and abilities) just because they do not play ranked, that is just bad manner's right their i've met people who can kick my arse that aren't ranked and i've kicked people's arse's who are ranked silver+, that and i've been playing league for nearly 4 years. Also as a response to who play's mordekaiser nowadays, Morde main for two years or so.

I used to think she was overpowered and even used to ban her. But I've found several champs that can handle her and don't really mind playing against her anymore. She has to go all in to be a threat and that forces even good Rivens to run into bad positions.

Riven's biggest weakness is long term trades, she'll win in a burst fight, but if you do short rapid trades over periods of time, you'll win. That's what Morde, Xin both excel at. Nasus and Trynd I've never tried. GP definitely fits the bill of long term trades.

I'd try Xin or GP first as they both have sustain, just trade and outsustain, and you'll win.

Bad in long term trades? With her buffed AA? After her combo she'll AA you and then cast combo again. How Xin can do short trades if his Riven will simply follow him after his combo? Nasus us dead vs Riven - sustain champs is vulnerable to burst. Matchup vs Trynd is skill dependant.

I had matchup with Trundle who can outsustain both Xin and GP, but Riven didn't care about sustain.

Bait her shield out and then poke at her, or if she blows all her abilities for cs, engage her. If there's one thing she doesn't have its a built in heal.

I've picked Trundle into her a couple times and won lane, but it was during her free rotation so I don't know if they were just bad Rivens. Or they might not have know how to handle Trundle. lol

Bad Rivens. Trundle as susatin champion is vulnerable to burst. And Riven bursts him very good.

Many champions can destroy Riven 1v1, but she can always comeback with her windslash in a teamfight...
