Interesting change to Nami Passive / Ultimate

So, I don't know if this was intended when Nami was designed, but her ultimate is VERY slow moving and easy to dodge, and makes for pretty poor initiation. It is in fact slow enough that from most any distance, you can simply outrun it, especially since the range isn't all that far. The disengage is pretty good, but not nearly as good as say Janna. So I've always seen Nami as a more aggressive Janna, due to how much faster her bubble is compared to Janna's tornado. Meanwhile, Nami has the rather strange passive of granting movespeed to allies when she uses a spell on them... including her cc. This passive is almost invisible unless you are trying to chase her or a nearby ally of hers.

My question is, when Nami was initially designed with her current kit, were teammates meant to be able to run along with the wave and effectively "surf" it into the enemy team? Would Riot ever consider allowing Nami's passive to interact more strongly with her ultimate in specific, so that players could use it aggressively with good timing and positioning?

I think her Ult and passive are fine the way they are. If you are rarely hitting people with the Ult, you aren't using it right.

Oh I was mostly just curious if that was the kind of kit synergy they were going for. I think Nami's fine as-is, she's like my favorite support to lane with.
