How I See Thunderlord's Decree

  • Warlord's Bloodlust: Meant for champions who get a lot of critical hits.
  • Fervor of Battle: Meant for champions who use a lot of basic attacks but don't build critical hit chance.
  • Deathfire Touch: Meant for champions who want to little away their opponents.
  • Grasp of the Undying: Meant for tankier champions who want to deal damage while keeping themselves going.
  • Strength of Aegis: Meant for beefier champs who want a bit more health without needing to invest gold into it.
  • Bond of Stone: Meant for beefier champs who stick around teammates.
  • Windspeaker's Blessing: Meant for supports with shields and heals.
  • Stormraider's Surge: Meant for either mages or assassins, anybody who bursts.

Then there's Thunderlord's Decree... http://vignette3.wikia.nocookie.net/leagueoflegends/images/5/58/Thunderlord's_Decree_mastery_2016.png/revision/latest?cb=20151103094742 Who's supposed to build this?

I've seen this on Renekton, Illaoi, Vayne, Master Yi, and so many others that I'm starting to think something went wrong. There's this Thunderlord phenomenon going around, but I can see patterns. All the other Keystone Masteries are intended for a certain niche, as I outlined above. Yet I'm seeing every walk of life using Thunderlord... I feel like I'm just joining the League of Anti-Thunderlords here on the forums, but I had to speak my mind.

That's pretty much it, if you aren't playing a Champ with a specific "thing" outlined above, you go thunderlords. There is nothing else.

Or you could just go thunderlord if you want to burst people down. For example, Gnar should want to use Fervor of Battle but since thunderlords is overtuned at the moment he builds it. I can't think of a single champion in this game that at least one of the other keystones suit them but thunderlord i feel suits everyone which is the problem

The only reason you're seeing thunderlord's so much is not because it's OP it's because literally every other option has been systematically destroyed by Riot. It's not Thunderlord's fault for being the only good option at this point. It only started getting mass-used when everything else got made useless xP

By that definition it is OP, if every other option is weaker.

It's because all the other masteries suck. Thunderlords does better than all of them at the moment

they buffing storm raiders to be like master yi ult giving you slow immunity and 40% move speed for 4 secs. so i will be running that on ap ezreal when its buffed.

So you are playing some mobile assassin or immobile longrange mage or AD bruiser with mobility or damage-based support. You do not AA much, so bloodlust/fervor are out, Deathfire is just bad on non-DOT champions, Stormraider is only useful if you need that ms boost and can actually use it, Windspeaker is out because no heals, and 3 Resolve masteries are out because these types of champions are damage-based. And what remains is a nice boost to burst and trading power, Thunderlord. Its literally the only keystone that does something on that type of champions.

And by "that type of champion" you mean roughly 60% of the champion pool.

Well, thats just how League champions work. We have autoattackers+DOT mages that take ferocity keystones, bursters with thunderlord, tanks/juggernauts with grasp, tanky supports with bond of stone and Tahm Kench supports with that hp stacking mastery. And there are more "bursters" than others.

Yes, but you see, there are a ton of champs like say, Jarvan, who can be KIND OF bursty and KIND OF tanky, where it feels like because thunderlords is so much better as an option, it completely destroys my ability to play him tanky, whereas before, I could let my item build decide that in game, based on how the game was going.

This is why I fucking hate everything about the keystones.

Thunderlord's alone is not too good - rather, a lot of the other keystones are a bit underwhelming currently, either due to being abusively strong currently (Ferocity keystones, Bond of Stone) or rather weak/gimmicky (Strength of Ages, Stormraider's Surge).

However, what really drives Thunderlord's strength home is how powerful Precision, the 5-point tier 3 mastery, is. Unless you're dealing with a megatank with an innate Armor or MR steroid, said mastery is stronger than Battering Blows and Piercing Thoughts combined. Proof.

"How i see Thunderlord's decree"

explains how he sees every single keystone EXCEPT Thunderlord's decree

But on a serious note, just because everyone uses the spell doesn't mean its OP. The spell itself is pretty lackluster on must champions.

actually it has a huge weak... and i also laugh at those who takes it...

its not big deal as you thought... just burst him and its over for them...
