Illoai's "Test of Spirit" Should Be Looked At

I am one of those people that bans Illoai, not because she is strong or has a high play rate but because of this ability. I play tankier champions with large hitboxes and 90 percent of the time an Illoai hits me with this and I have to leave my team to break the tether and then slowly look for tentacles, only to get hit in the face with them once they spawn. By the time I finish this and can get back to my team, another Test of Spirit is ready for me and I have to repeat this process again. I feel like the "test of spirit" is me not smashing my keyboard when this happens.

It is miserable and completely ruins any of the mid-late game experience when I am fighting one. I can understand people wanting to play Bard, Skarner or other champs that look forward to the mini game part of their kits but this has to be the most miserable "mini game" parts of League of Legends.

I feel that the Test of Spirit is a neat idea and that people should be able to hurt a champion if they can beat on the spirit that gets sucked out. I wouldn't even care if I was cursed within the tether time or as a penalty for not leaving it in time. However, if you get out of the tether range in a short time you should be free of getting cursed, IMO. At the very least you shouldn't be able to get recursed again 25 seconds later and have to afk from the game to start hugging walls looking for tentacles and taking damage at the same time. Maybe there should be something like Kindred's passive where you can't keep killing the same opponent without a cooldown.

People downvote this, but are also bewildered by her constantly having a high ban rate despite not having an amazing winrate.

Admitting there's a problem is the first step to recovery people.

She has so much of her power budget tangled up in test of spirit because there's so few restrictions on it. No natural expiration, no immunity time once clearing it, the only way to keep yourself from getting vessled if it hits is to fight a lane bully juggernaut who will be dealing bonus damage to you since your soul is out getting whipped by her tentacles and Q. it's just shitty.

She's certainly not unbeatable, even in lane, but you NEVER feel good about it.

My only problem with "Test of Spirit" is that it feels more like "Timeout Chair". It's not engaging to be cursed, it's you taking a time out somewhere safe waiting for the next three tentacles to spawn so you can kill them and get back to playing League of Legends.

Her E has a transition in how to play against it. Early game you need to fight her for it while she is still at her weakest. Mid game / late game, just run away. The tentacles die in two hits and are easy to dodge.

It is a fairly long CD, that is most useful when she can land an E and follow into an ult. I honestly don't see why players shouldn't be punished for being hit by a slow telegraphed skill shot with a long cd.
