I agree.

Better nerf Irelia.

Melledoneus1 votes

Let's make Shen's ult deal %HP true damage to his allies while we're at it, it's only fair that he's never seen in the LCS again.

doodlebob6661 votes

shen isn't a weak champ for the LCS, even after the nerfs, he's just lost reliability, and is more abusable now later in the game, he is still being picked on the patch where the nerfs went live despite this as well, and would be even stronger if galio wasn't there, and gangplank didn't create a situation where he has to be banned for a shen pick to work

Melledoneus3 votes

Exactly. We need to nerf him until he no longer exists.

I'll always ALWAYS hate Riot for creating Yasuo.

Everyone outduels a lvl 3 Irelia; this is not news. All you have to do to win this matchup is not feed by lvl 6, and then click on him until he dies.Hell, you don't even need to wait until lvl 6; lvl 4 with a corrupting pot will do the trick. Is that really that hard?

How will I win at level 6 when he has double the creeps due to zoning?

DunkinNoobs21 votes

By clicking on him. Unless you fed him multiple kills before lvl 6, you will win the 1v1. That's just how hard Irelia counters Yasuo.

Obviously not, since he only had 1 kill at level 6 and still couldn't duel.

Why? Simple, because HE HAD FUCKING DOUBLE CS. It's not a hard concept to grasp on how much this matters in the current state of the game.

"Not feeding" is absolutely useless in this meta. If you get zoned you're just as useless as having fed.

Looks like someone got outplayed.

Outplaying implies the enemy is better than the average.

I don't think the enemy was a problem here.

Skorch2 votes

Outplaying implies the enemy is better than YOU

Sraeg20131 votes

"Outplaying" is a conscious action.

For example if somebody doesn't put their cursor far enough to Flash over a wall and ends up in a brush and the enemy correctly Flash over a wall that's not an outplay.

If somebody consciously walks to a wall, points at a brush and flashes to it, then it is an outplay.

Another example is when somebody is so bad at the game they never try to dodge and end up against a higher level player, the better player will actually lose at least initially. Again, that's not an outplay.

Skorch2 votes

Outplaying is an action. But the main criticism is you dont have to be better than average in order TO outplay as you implied.

Sraeg20131 votes

I could've also written "you must not be an idiot", but that'd be too straight forward for the joke I was making.

SzGamer2271 votes

If you care about picking nits about "better than you" we can pick nits about "better than average".

If you want to make a joke that doesn't have nits to pick say "outplaying implies that the enemy is good", good being a relative term that can be withheld from Yasuo players across all skill levels. :P

but the enemy doesnt know that

so outplayed :^)

Battlecast Sona8 votes

someone got outplayed by a champ with infinite dashes, what a surprise

Anidan4 votes

Against a champion that deals her damage primarily through right-clicks with a point-and-click stun if their health is lower than Yasuo's? Yeah, I'd say they were outplayed, too. And they managed to have only half the CS of the enemy by level 6 and that's why they couldn't duel at that point. The situation here is either they were outplayed or they can't farm. It's one of the two.

Troll for Trump1 votes

Actually, Irelias low af range makes her really easy to outplay as anyone, especially if he has more hp than you, because then she won't even have a stun. Irelia's only ever a threat if she somehow gets ahead pre 6 and starts snowballing.

TEA Nietzsche 2 votes

Irelia hard counters Yasuo, period. The only levels at which Yasuo is (arguably) stronger is 1 and 2 - he gets dicked on afterwards. OP didn't play on his win condition and got probably outplayed aswell thus deserving to lose. There is no point in defending someone who get's bullied to the point of having half Yasuos CS in a matchup he is supposed to win.

Sraeg20131 votes

Did you know: Basic attacks, enhanced basic attacks and unit-targetted abilities don't give a flying fuck about dashes?

Irelia simply doesn't have an ability to miss until level 6.

Battlecast Sona1 votes

oh man I forgot about Irelia's ranged autoattack

oh wait

Sraeg20131 votes

Yasuo doesn't have one either.

"But teh Yasueeewwww's Q..."

If that's going to be your argument, then Irelia outranges Yasuo.

Learn lane wave management, have jungle come and help break if he freezes so wave will bounce, freeze wave on your side of map, get ganks from jungler.

Ye...well...so we're back to relying on the jungler as everything else in this game nowadays.

Man do I love having lost pretty much any game sovereignty to the junglers.

Lane management goes around and comes around. Especially against someone who can poke you down even when you have frozen just before the tower and stop your streak of freezing right there.

Jorencice2 votes

How the fuck does a melee zone someone?

I mean shit if he gets poking you. Poke back with your stun and walk away.

Problem solved.

EndlessSorcerer6 votes

Have you never seen a melee champion freeze the minion wave and zone the enemy champion?

It's a fundamental of laning.

Fed by Snu Snu6 votes

It's a fundamental of laning.

It also requires having lane dominance or range superiority and for the opponent to not have the ability to shove the lane even further and turn the tables into freezing it on his own side. In which case you are boned. None of those apply to Yasuo.

Or playing against a mentally handicapped person, that works too.

Freezing the lane is not some magic technique that has no reply available.

This is actually the case though tbh. Level 4 Irelia beats Yasuo in an all-in, level 6 she easily solo kills him if he even tries to contest farm. Patiently wait until 4 then kick his ass. Irelia is Yasuo's hardest counter, and if you lose to Yasuo in lane solo as Irelia you're playing much worse than the Yasuo.

Right clicking must be hard.

You either right click him to death or he wrecks you. Yasuo has close to zero interactions that relate to any "skill" other than avoiding his long range poke, which is not part of actually fighting him.

But it's ok, apparently I should let a hypercarry scale because he has strong early game as well and that's totally fair because "reasons".

And I'm also a terrible player for losing to him. I also should have been able to farm against an opressive, hypermobile, strong early game champion, because also "reasons".

But it's ok, because that's what the bans are there for, to make me a good player instead. And when the 10 bans go live, all the yasuo defenders won't be able to play him, so everybody wins.

Right clicking must be hard.

It is for you apparently.

You either right click him to death or he wrecks you. Yasuo has close to zero interactions that relate to any "skill" other than avoiding his long range poke, which is not part of actually fighting him.

The champion you're describing is Irelia actually. It is possible to avoid his melee Q and play around his shield. I hope you're not asserting that Yasuo stat-checked you. Because Irelia's stats are far superior. =)

But it's ok, apparently I should let a hypercarry scale because he has strong early game as well

He doesn't. Irelia just happens to have a very weak early game pre-4, and Yasuo's 1 and 2 happen to be strong. His level three and on isn't great, his mid game is bad (despite 100% crit chance due to low survivability), but yes his late game is very strong.

and that's totally fair because "reasons".

It is more accurate to say that it's fair because it's incorrect, so it couldn't be unfair.

And I'm also a terrible player for losing to him.

Certainly more terrible than the Yasuo.

I also should have been able to farm against an opressive, hypermobile, strong early game champion, because also "reasons".

You have sustain in lane and your Q makes farming incredibly easy so yes.

But it's ok, because that's what the bans are there for, to make me a good player instead. And when the 10 bans go live, all the yasuo defenders won't be able to play him, so everybody wins.

You seem like such an emotionally fragile little guy.

TFW Level 4 Irelia buys Sheen and proceeds to 100-0 level 6 Yasuo.

I love fighting Yasuo. That and Riven. My win rate against both of them are about 90%. The easiest damn champions to anticipate.

It's the good ones people talk about

skyskee0087 votes

Seriously though? Irelia is one of those champions that hurts Yasuo a lot. Because of his shield even if Irelia initiates a trade she will STILL get her 2 seconds point and click stun on him. Also she has ridiculous powerspikes when she hits Sheen and Triforce. Wait for those powerspikes and you WILL dumpster Yasuo (his power spikes aren't as potent, and take more gold). You will almost always 1v1 him until hypeelate if he builds enough lifesteal and gets his Ult shred on you.

Also for most champions XP is king, not CS. Obviously you should CS but a 10-30 CS deficit means nothing compared to a level or two deficit. Only ADCs rely on gold more than XP and THATS WHY they're played in a duo lane.

Like actually watch Gbay99, he laughs at Yasuos as he dumpsters them. Also right runes and masteries are key early game as well as knowing how to trade.

AmazoX2 votes

Seriously I know right? EVERYONE, Majority of the players acknowledge that Irelia hard counters Yasuo super hard.

And this isn't even true for every adc... there are some (e.g. Tristana ) that do very well with XP too.

skyskee0082 votes

Every champion likes XP, but for ADCs gold is king. Like mages/bruisers/tanks spike really hard at level 11. Like level 2 Syndra/amumu/orianna/Darius ult will make a huge difference.

If you're an ADC you're not like "can't wait for my level 2 Cait/Jinx/Trist/Vayne/Lucian ult". Like they're nice but your IEDGE powerspike is way more significant.

Of course mages and bruisers have item powerspikes as well (void staff - this actually relies on base damages, cleaver - also amps base damages).

OP also left out the following facts: He started W on Irelia ######Lul He had corrupting potion and Yasuo had Dorans, which means he has more combat stats than Irelia

Lack of a replay as evidence makes this really hard to believe

I don't care what other high elo players say.

And my diamond was in EUW, so whatever. I don't have to adhere to the silly EUW/EUNE bollocks anymore. All that matters is that NA is shit. :^)

Troll for Trump2 votes

He is weak, but he's really hard for most top laners to deal with because their kits don't allow them to interact as much with them.

I don't really know how to describe it, but I'll put it in terms of "kit speed"

Tanks have the lowest speed, Juggernauts are somewhere in the middle, and skirmishers by far have the fastest kits.

Generally, you can only wait until someone with a higher speed outplays themself, because you won't be able to have much initiative or control over them. A tank rarely will get a lead on a juggernaut unless the juggernaut fks up hard, for instance.

At high elo, people know that Yas will start dashing around like a madman, and usually be able to outplay an enemy laner early on. So, the jgler shuts him down, and the person laning against Yas just snowballs off the lead.

Lower elos, people don't know how Yas works.
