What'e the most overloaded basic ability?

Snowman Arc··40 votes·23,032 views

I'd have to say Camille's E.

Two casts. Double dash. AoE damage. Stun. Grants attack speed. Distance doubled if dashing towards champions.

I would have said Zoe's W, but I decided to group all of possible actives she can get into one, so it doesn't become as confusing.

I don't see why this pun is down voted, and realistically it does have a lot of effects.

has a passive for free resets upon using any of his other basic abilities if you use his other two abilities and than use the q you get movespeed and a shield it does damage and if it hits something with his e on it it chains to other things with the e on it and if he kill anything with his e on it the e proc bounces to all nearby targets

guess thats why its called overload

p.s. not to mention they were thinking about changing his kit where the empowered version of his q would deal additional true damage or would have a % convertion, don't know if canceled or iceboxed though

pretty sad when an ability that can target allies or enemies with different effects (Lulu E) is extremely simple and not overloaded at all. anyways, Jhin passive is basically an entire research paper. perhaps the longest ability description in the game, just explaining jhin's auto attacks. the four shots, fixed attack speed, crit and %hp damage on 4th shot, movement speed on crit, attack speed converted to ad and crit movement speed. it's a shit ton of information.

EkyonKun43 votes

"All right, so there's this AD champ named Jhin who doesn't gain attack speed-" "Oh so just build straight AD on him?" "No you build attack speed because it gets converted into more AD. He gains actual attack speed with levels" "Does that get converted to AD?" "No, only bonus attack speed does. His base attack doesn't. Anyway, so he fires pretty slowly all throughout the game but he hits like a truck. But he can only fire four times before he has to reload." "Reload?" "Yeah it takes a few seconds before he can auto attack after four shots. But his fourth shot always crits" "Oh cool! So you don't need crit chance on him?" "No you still build crit because it makes his crits give him more movement speed" "He gets...movement speed...from crit chance?" "Yeah all his crits, including his fourth shot, give him a burst of movement speed" "Then his fourth shot is useless late game if he gets 100% crit chance?" "No because it deals percent missing health damage. Also his crits deal 25% reduced damage." "Okay fuck that I'm playing Annie"

The best part of this is that you still missed bits, because the ability is that complicated.

  • Attack speed slows will affect his attack speed and his passive bonus damage.
  • Attack damage reductions apply before the multiplier, resulting in more power vs. Jhin than expected.
  • The reload happens automatically after 10 seconds.
  • The fourth attack will critically strike structures, but for 44% reduced damage and no bonus physical damage.

I wouldn't say it's overloaded, it's just very long to explain.

jesus christ dude, can you be any more toxic and ignorant? Just a brief check shows the dude almost never comments/posts about Yasuo at all, you don't have to be such a shitter

Outside of the complete and utter abandonment of being a decent human being, you seem to have forgotten that

  1. Projectiles are a huge part of damage in league of legends, and not something to go "that's it" about
  2. Unlike Fiora, Yasuo's wall can protect his entire team from most damage in the game

So, in terms of potential, Yasuo's windwall can be of much more use than Fiora

But again, you don't have to be a complete ass. You should be ashamed of yourself

As for Ability with most active effects, i'd say you are spot on for camille

as for Ability with most Passive effects, i'd say that goes to Nasus R

Press one button and: Gain bonus HP Gain bonus resistance Gain bonus AA Range Half your Q cooldown for the next 15 seconds gains AD based on how much Aura-damage his R does to champs Bonus resistances additionally grow over the duration.

And now with Nimbus cloak and Celerity, he gets a movement steroid to top it off when pressing that button.

Edit: nvm, i didnt see he meant basic ability. In that case I stick to camille E

EndlessSorcerer11 votes

gains AD based on how much Aura-damage his R does to champs

I'm pretty sure they removed this when they added resistances to his ultimate.

You can make anything sound overloaded, which is what many people do when complaining about a champion.

Take this for instance.

"Garen is so fucking overloaded. His Q deals bonus physical damage, silences on hit, cleanses any slow affecting him when cast, while granting him a movement speed boost, AND a free auto reset. GG rito nice balancing. I'm leaving the game until this gets fixed."

In reality, it's a very simple spell that you click when you want to move fast and hit someone. Pretty much any champion that isn't from beta has multiple parts in a single ability. Unless we're talking about Pantheon. Look at his Q. It literally just deals physical damage. It functions exactly identical to an auto attack, minus the benefits of being an auto attack. It's like damn, you click on an enemy and deal damage. Even draws aggro now too, so it's like an auto attack except that it isn't effected by on hit items, crit items, or lifesteal. Man panth is underwhelming.

I was about to unironically post that Garen's abilities are overloaded. It doesn't make him too strong, it just means his tooltips are multiple paragraphs long even though all you do is run at an enemy and Demacia your keyboard. Power level, overloading, and play pattern are different things.

Zoe's E

i dont even wanna get into all the stuff it has, but here i go

skillshot extends range if over a wall if it hits nothing forms a trap deals Magic dmg 2 types of CC, and 2nd is unavoidable (outside of an item, or spell shield)

  • a slow
  • a stun that stops on dmg dealing dmg to a stunned target deals true dmg

Not sure if she still reduces her CD if she hits a target but ill be happy if thats not the case

Also Yasuo's passives 2x crit chance but crit dmg is reduced gains shield from moving shield blocks dmg from attack that proc'd it and continues to shield after being proc'd

Also anyone try to dissect Kai'sa's passive?

Rathar Dashing2 votes

How is the CC more unavoidable than any other skillshot with CC?

If anything I would have said her W is overloaded, and that's coming from a Zoe main.

Wolfeur3 votes

This shows how little people think sometimes…

skillshot

It has to be either a skillshot or a targeted spell, so it's irrelevant, or if anything, a downside most of the time. It's also colliding, so you can use minions to protect against it.

extends range if over a wall

And very short range otherwise

deals Magic dmg

Yeah, like almost every spell in the game, it deals damage…

2 types of CC, and 2nd is unavoidable (outside of an item, or spell shield)

Once you're hit by a CC, it's kinda logical that it's unavoidable… Plus, it gives you time to reposition, and prepare any kind of cleanse.

a slow

So the softest CC in the game

a stun that stops on dmg

So an easily wasted CC

dealing dmg to a stunned target deals true dmg

Deals damage equal to the hitting spell, up to the initial bubble damage, so the true damage part is irrelevant, because one way or another, your resistances count.

Wrong. example is Garen’s Q

And very short range otherwise

How many other abilities in the game extend themselves if it ends in a wall? Not many. example is Cait’s Q

Once you're hit by a CC, it's kinda logical that it's unavoidable… Plus, it gives you time to reposition, and prepare any kind of cleanse.

Lolz, so if you are hit by a slow it is logical that you will get stunned unavoidably? Nope. example is Jihn, he slows then has to hit you to get the stun

So the softest CC in the game

So soft that people burn their flashes to avoid it...

So an easily wasted CC

because no one ever dies after the first hit they take while being stunned...

Deals damage equal to the hitting spell, up to the initial bubble damage, so the true damage part is irrelevant, because one way or another, your resistances count.

smelling a zoe main here. so defensive. doesn’t even understand the point of the original post. it’s overLOADED not overPOWERED

Wolfeur2 votes

I've played Zoe once, in one-for-all…

My point is that it's not overloaded. It just looks overloaded because it has a very peculiar behaviour. If I take the same spell, increase its range, double its damage and change the CC for an actual stun, and remove the range extention and bonus damage, this is what we have:

"Zoe lauches a projectile that damages and stuns the first enemy hit", basically Xerath's E.

Everything else (except the trap, which I didn't argue about) is just purely lowering its power: range is situational, CC is not instant and more easily cancellable, and full damage is not guaranteed.

It's a complicated spell, but it's NOT overloaded.

Slythion5 votes

if you mean overloaded as in, contains a lot, then you might be right

if you mean overloaded as in strong then Yasuo windwall, hands down

IcyPepper4 votes

SuperLuigiLXIV5 votes

Gangplank's barrels.

-Turns a melee single-target attacker into a ranged AoE fighter -Interacts with the bonus gold generation and damage on his Q -Interacts with the bonus damage effect of Sheen procs -40% armor pen, ability to crit, and activates ability effects (like Dark Harvest) -Provides an AoE 2s slow if it hits -Resets his passive and grants him the movement speed effect from his passive -Can be chained to prevent enemies from popping the barrels first, including being chained into already-exploding barrels

Few other abilities have such a ridiculous amount of both versatility and damage. He can use them to chase, to escape, to nuke, to farm, to turn a variety of single-target effects into AoE effects.

ModCaptainMårvelous4 votes

If I had to guess/make a call...

Brand Passive

  • Percent HP burn on every ability.
  • Additional effect for every ability sans R (A stun, bonus damage and spreading the burn)
  • Explodes if you hit three stacks
  • The explosion triggers the passive again

Granted, it's overloaded to make Brand's kit work.

Pokemonred2002 votes

Actually, Brand's R applies a pretty big slow if it hits a target that's Ablaze (30/45/60% based on rank). It's not something that I see a lot though, because most brands I see start the fight by ulting.

LatetotheRace3 votes

Maokai Kind of weird, but it's a dash into a root. But for some reason you're also untargetable.

W to make them path towards enemy, W to trap them entirely, W to displace champions, and many more. Even a legendary 5 second wall pin

I disagree. At four stacks, it can block a single auto attack or turret shot. That's not complicated or overloaded at all. Quite simple, actually.

I dont think its complicated by any means, but I am a MonkeyKing one trick, so there is a lot of bias there.

Kled's passive mechanics (dismount negates all cc, invulnerable for the animation of dismount, has no cooldown so passive can be proc'd repeatedly in a single fight, etc.) Not to mention his bear trap on a rope goes through units, allowing for a low-cooldown attack that cannot be blocked by minions and is a lower ranged Pyke Q.
