@Riot: Maybe you should stop doing roster updates and put more ressources in individual reworks
How full upgrades are recieved usually vaires every time, but often the feedback has been positive. When there is a single-champ rework, there is a team working on them, backed up with art resoruces and they spend hours and hours of trying to figure out "just what is this champion?". That way we got Poppy and Sion, a thematically nice GP-Rework and whatever Shen got. It was not good, not bad uhh... you made an entirely neutral rework here. That's kinda ironic.
So unless you pull a Karma (which I am still mad at you for btw. This is something we old players will never forget.), you usually get overwhelmingly good feedback and get things right.
However, roster updates follow a different pattern. Maybe for one champ you have a nice idea, but the rest usually follows the premise of "How the hell do we fix this mess with as least art ressources as possible?". This is not trying to make a champion awesome, more iconic or anything. It's damage control of what previous designers have done wrong. HOWEVER, many old champions simply cannot be fixed by tweaking some numbers or changing one ability. That mostly stands in contrast to their initial design as well. My favourite examples for this is the Fiddlesticks change.
Yeah we know auras are bad design. But simply kicking it out and replacing it with something that only exist to not make fiddles be entirely useless, when the champion actually requires a full VGU is simply a bad idea.
Also, trying to fix an imaginary problem such as "Vel'Koz needs more uniqueness" is kinda weird in itself. Mostly because his laser is either abyssimal weak or downright broken. Also "mark an enemy to deal damage" is not exactly an unique mechanic.
And in some cases, such as Vlad or Cassio, the changes are a step in the right direction. But only a step after all, only somewhat fixing the most pressing problems. Those two need more love. In Vlad's case: lock a champUp-team in a room, give them Deadman Wonderland to read and then let them come up with blood based abilities. Also, let them watch Avatar, because bloodbending ^^. And Cassio... poison clouds are nice, but the ultimate is still thematically incoherent, does still make her look like a token medusa-rippoff and Twin Fang is an ability I would not miss if it was removed entirely for something different. Give her a petrifying poison instead, that would be a step in the right direction from a thematic point of view.
"But items and stuff" - yeah, because item changes require a total class screw-up to be looked at. Especially since there are only three categories of items: AD, AP and tank. Unless you want to rework ALL AD or ALL AP champs, that argument just doesn't work. Too many different classes can profit from the same items. Just look at Protobelt. No mage can really use that, but holy shit, ap-assassins are drooling all over it. It's a flash in a can. One that can bring less flash-reliant champions to run a second offensive summoner spell.
TBH you should have done the whole item mess after the champions. That way you can first test if one thing works, and then test the other thing, so you get the best results. Yeah, that might take a little longer, but at least you have a better quality in the end.
Tl,dr: Do a few things right instead of doing a lot half-assed.

. And probably
as well, but he's not #1 on that list.
