the death of talon?

Hi there, Talon main here, ever since I played the champion I absolutely loved it, however I feel this rework is removing too many of the aspects i liked about him, specially gameplay wise.

Talon has always been kind of a unique assassin to me, his cooldowns were above average while his mobility was below and while he had no resets he had great AoE, to me this was what set talon apart from the other assassins, he was AoE teamfight assassin as well as one of the fastest if not the fastest one shot in league, in return he was really unsafe and after he blew his cooldowns he was mostly useless.

I can understand that talon could be frustrating to play against, so it was no surprise to me when riot talked about toning down his AoE and burst window, I was happy however when they talked about improving his mobility in return. I was however disapointed when I discovered his newfound mobility was pretty much out of lane exclusive and that his actual in combat mobility is now even worse and more one-dimensional than before.

This worries me greatly because talon has always been a stapple of the midlane, it is and it has always been HIS lane, however this rework makes me feel riot is creating a jungler or at least his kit fits the jungle role significantly better. A lot of the strenghts he brought to the table as a MIDLANNER are getting nerfed such as is AoE, his base mov speed, his IN COMBAT mobility is way worse (shorter range, blink>>dash), and his kill speed is not as fast (altough im fine with this part as long as its the same for other assassins).

The worst part however is that his skill level became EVEN SIMPLER AND MORE BINARY than before, with talon's new combo being mecanically even simpler, less cool looking and offering even less counterplay than before, he has 0 outplay potencial if there are no walls around, I feel he is about to turn into nunu of the mid... Once the hype sets down and nerfs occur he will be useless mid since he offers much less combat wise. If most of his combat power is being shifted into out of combat roaming there's pretty much nothing stoppping him to moving into the jungle and i believe there are enough stealth assassins there...

I think the katarina rework is the best in my opinion, it's really flashy and cool and it pushed kata's identity forward... Talon however is about to have his identity of purely offense all in assassin swapped with good at running away assassin and if that happens it will be a sad day.

On a side note i think assassins having mobility and quick burst is more fair than having assassins bursting you slower while having a spell shield to negate peel.
