Why does Kled gain hp after he loses his pet?

As Darius, I depend on the fight lasting 5 stacks so I can just ult and win. I get him off his pet and ult and it doesn't kill him as if he had a few less stacks than max, and everytime I ulted after he was off his pet, he survived every time by a nominal amount. I don't understand what this interaction is, but it's pretty stupid cause I couldn't get the kill (and Kled also thrives on extended fights, so it's not like I can spare his whittling him more for the time being).

Darius is strong in average ELO, I know, Kled's not an issue, I'm not asking for nerfs, but why is it that my ult was never able to finish him after he was off his pet with 5 stacks?

Must be your calculation's off, otherwise he'd pretty much be dead. You sure you were dealing enough damage?

Unless he sheds stacks on dismount or something?

My go-to choice is Darius; usually when they're at the hp he was at, it would kill them or at least nearly kill them as to bleed to death. Kled? He still had at least 100 hp left by the end of the ult, and he didn't have a Phage or anything more 'tanky'. He had a tiamat. And no, I'm fairly sure he still had the 5 stacks.

Then again, all I can suggest is you missed a tick or something since Kled's health bar looks weird. He does not gain any HP, although he still has his own HP per level. Kled ends up with a higher total HP than most equivalent champions last I saw, just because he gets the 'second' health bar.

I'm at least 90% sure Darius got an execute indicator recently, besides.

He gains health only when he gets his mount back.

he gains 0 hp. he has a set hp number for mount and unmounted and items only give health to skarl
