PSA: If you get auto filled to a role you don't want, ask if people would be willing to trade

I'm a support main, and anytime I get a role other than support, I'll usually get asked by the person in the support role if I'd like to trade with them, and I'll gladly accept (since it's my main). Here's the thing, it doesn't matter what role you want etc, there's a very high chance SOME system of trade could be established between roles to where everyone is satisfied. If it doesn't, then play something you're comfortable with and can do well on.

As a bit of advice to anyone who complains about having to support, if you're plat or below, literally any champion with a bit of utility or CC can be played effectively as long as you make that utility your focus (also warding, don't forget .

Just got done with a game where I was given Mid and the Top was autofilled but was an adept mid. Since I'm meh tier at Mid I told him I'd trade him if he so wanted because I happen to have the most laning practice in top lane. So I took Sejuani item 3512 item 3068 item 3102 item 3083 item 3152 [didn't get to finish it tho] item 3117 (This Shit is so fucking fun) We both ended up winning lane and ultimately the game.

That works because you're requesting support. Most people don't want to play support. So it's hard to trade for another role.

Then proceed to step 2. Play a champ you're comfortable with that has utility. You're more likely to win that way.

Believe it or not, Rengar support has a fairly annoying laning phase. He doesn't need to CS and can just jump from bushes.

On the side note, it would've been a crushing victory, if it wasn't for my ADC being... Ziggs. It was clear the guy never played him mid(or mid at all), because he was eating literally every single skillshot.

Rengar's W only heals back half of the damage he receives. Either Ziggs use his Heal on you. or you need glasses.

if Azir Yasuo Orianna Ahri Cassiopeia support, this is not viable for 1 reason even in bronze: tilts the ally adc very hard, unless adc explicitly says he doesnt mind (in which case he would not be in bronze)

edit: Orianna supp is generally very well accepted if there's an ally Yasuo in the team

In Bronze pretty much ANY champ with a TINY bit of CC, or just reliable damage output is viable as a support, because reliably outdamaging the opposing duo can nullify the CC the opposing support may bring. The tilt usually occurs a lot more for me when 10 minutes in I'm 1/1/5 as ADC, and my support has 3 or 4 kills. I'm not a diva adc who wants all kills for myself, but after the 2nd or 3rd kill they 'secure' with an unnecessary ability (that you had 'secured' with AA), it gets really annoying and really obvious they are feeding themselves and want you to basically support them.

Sass aside the enemy ADC dying makes them lose let's say 15 minions. It lets the ally ADC get let's say 15 minions for free without fear of being poked or killed cuz the enemy is dead. That's a 30 minion difference now. If the support is the one that burst them down then it's good for them to get the kills so they can continue bursting them down and allowing you free farm while putting the enemy behind.

I always hate when my ally ADC gets a kill and just farms. Like.. well yeah farm up, but sometimes they don't even try to right click the enemy. They make the support do all the harass and when they're about to get a kill off of it suddenly the ADC wants to attack and will play reckless or waste flash to secure it. And it's like k waste that gold bud. I coulda translated that into more harass and put them more behind but let's just let em catch up and throw the advantage

But sometimes you get that ADC who understands it takes two to poke well and you just get them so fed. Feels amazing.

It actually does work more than you would expect.

I really can't do anything other than ADC and Mid (and mid poorly), and I am already bad enough at League that I don't want to spread myself even thinner learning more roles.

And likewise, if you are a support player, ask if people wanna trade unless the role you got is the one you wanted specifically. Everytime I get Top, I ask if anyone wanted Top. Usually, the support player is autofilled, so i end up getting support and they get top. Sometimes, people don't ask because they don't think anyone is willing to trade.

So it goes both ways.

I'd never trade for support. I don't like playing support and not receiving auto-fill immunity for it. Besides, I play support a fair bit of times so I pay my dues in a manner of speaking.

I only want to trade when I get autofilled to adc, because it's my most hated roll of all time. I always ask nicely, and so far, I have never had to play adc since autofill came out because people are willing to trade usually if you aren't a dick about it.

Exactly. Whenever I get autofilled to jungle I always just offer to play anything else and someone is always willing to swap. I don't understand why people have such a hard time attempting to at least ask if anyone will swap.

I don't necessarily main support, but I do my fair share of playing it. Even when I get my preferred roles (Which are Top and JG, and I can phone it in as ADC, but PLEASE don't ask me to be Mid. I suck at Mid) I ask if anyone wants top trade in the event that they got a role with which they are not comfortable. It usually results in me being support, but I don't care. You do what you have to for the sake of the team, after all.

And believe me when I say I'm asking for that nearly every game, because I'm first pick nearly every game. And being first pick while maining mid lane is one of the worst craps you have to put up with.

I agree. I'm mid/support main, but if I get mid and a person is saying he can't support at all, I'll trade with him. It's a win win situation - I dont get a lame support, and he doesnt have to play the role he doesnt want.
