I have never played a video game in which it takes this long to get into a game

3-5 minutes to get into champion select

Another 1 minute and 30 seconds for pick/ban, maybe 2 minutes

Oops, someone dodged last second, better start matchmaking over again.

Another 2-4 minutes, countless accepts and people not pushing accept.

Why can't we have a system like Call of Duty had? If someone leaves during champion select, it will try for 30 seconds to find a person to fill that role and continue the champion select without disbanding people.

Because roles and positions are much more specialized than in Call of Duty?

+1 for XboxLive style match making...All players remain in lobby while game fills empty role

Would work if champ select wasn't really a thing. Dodges and dc's happen throughout any stage of champ select adding a new player to a lobby that already has bans and picks in it can be overwhelming for the new player joining and it might not be fair either because the picks and bans would directly affect that player.

*What if he's a riven 1 trick and riven was banned as he joined?

*What if that enemy top laner picked darius and that's the one ban you always take?

What about keeping the same people together and re-doing champ select? Riot actually already tries to do that... if you stick around through enough lobbies you will see the same people placed with/against you. So I'm not really sure what more could be done to really help the matter

Then you have to allow the filled player to dodge without consequences if the picks and bans already in place doesn't agree with him. Otherwise it would be oppressive to the filled player.
