No heals in Kindred's Ult

So, Apparently, when people are dropped low enough in Kindred's Ult, they can't take anymore damage, but they also can't be healed. Why is this? What balance design does it serve? All it does is ruin synergy with Soraka, Nami, Janna, Taric and others.
