Riot Does Not Properly Hand Out S ratings

Gangplank Getting Trolled By Riot - Impossible to Earn S Ranks

I am far from the best player, and my CS is also far from perfect. However, hard carrying a game through damage and pressure, along with never dying, getting a shit ton of kills, should honestly reward you with an S even if your CS isn't well over 7 a minute.

As it stands, can't say I've ever actually gotten anything above an S- on this champ, and you can see my average winrate there along with a reasonable KDA, moderate CS (average 6 a minute). Even a game where I literally go 14/0/7, 6.3 CS a minute, hard carry the game (doubled next person's damage), still only get an S-. It just seems silly to me that I could do this well, and still not get at least an S. What should I do? Say 'screw the kills, towers, objectives in general, let's just spend all game farming' b/c that is arbitrary, and honestly kinda stupid. It does not promote teamwork, won't improve the game, and as a whole leaves me with a bad taste in my mouth.

(I'm about Gold Elo more or less)

TL;DR Will be forced to game the system (spend all game farming instead of taking objectives/teamfighting) as otherwise I'll never get my M7. It isn't grindy, it's just arbitrary.

actually RIOT grades 100% correctly ... cuz they are the ones to issue the grades and to have under 200 cs on gank plank is really bad

Your CS was low. You have to excel in each category to get an overall S or S+. Super excelling in one category doesn't (fully) carry over to other categories.

Cause most Gangplanks probably get a shit ton of farm cause my average(not a good gp) is about 7.3 a minute, although I usually feed my ass off. Sadly, no matter how much you carried your team, cs is still going to matter.

Not getting an S doesn't mean you didn't do well, didn't carry, etc. What it means is that there are quite a few people playing that same champion in that same role who will do better than you did. If somebody else managed to get 100 more CS than you did, but ended with the same score and KP, there's no arguing that they didn't deserve a higher grade than you did.

And at that, you even got an S- here. That's still extremely good. It's just not quite phenomenal.

But my point is, should CS be all that matters?

I was the main reason we were able to win the game, that's not my ego, that's a fact. I had so many kills not b/c I was particularly looking for them, but I was pushing for objectives and they'd try to fight or defend, and I'd kill them to take the objective or in some cases save a teammate. I've received a comparable S- that was completely undeserved in comparison, I fed my ass off in the laning phase due to constant jg pressure toplane (my worst lane, I prefer mid) enemy Lee Sin jg and Yasuo top, kinda hard to do well in that in lane. I was like 0/4 at 20 minutes, by the end of the game I was like 4/4/10 or something, managed to get 300 farm at 35 minutes, and got an S-, is that deserved? Hell no, I lost lane, fed my ass off, and the only redeeming feature was that I managed to do reasonable damage and farm well. Hell, that game I was even hard carried vs hard carrying.

My point, simply put, is that the scoring system isn't logical if there is a reward tied to it (namely Mastery 7), at least when it bases the system on something that appears to be incoherent or even unreasonable. I had 70% kill participation, and 47% of our team's total kills that match; I also had highest CS in game. Much of my CS was taken directly by teammates, probably about 60 or so at bare minimum (I almost always had 3 other people mid, enemy laner, and both junglers).

CS is what makes the difference between you and the better Gangplank players.

So yes CS does matter. Every aspect of the game matters in these grades. It doesn't matter how well you perform in an individual game, there are people who simply played Gangplank better than you.

CS better.

Don't call the kettle black, you need to cs better too.

I'm not the one complaining about not getting S grades.

Are you warding/ Are you getting objectives?

The gradings are an algorithm that pits you against other players, and measures your game against theirs. Riot did nothing but set it up, so they are not "handing out" any gradings. If your cs/kills/deaths/assists are worse than other peoples, then you well get a worse grade.
