The Strength of the Ages change is a nice thought

But I don't think it ultimately does anything for the competitive viability of the mastery at all

For reference, here's the change

Effect now triggers on large monsters and siege minions rather than only siege minions.
Max bonus kill effect now restores 6% maximum health from 100 health.

Yeah that sucks... maybe the user should get some sort of defensive bonus once the mastery is fully stacked... and no, a mediocre, conditional heal does not suffice.

The health restore is pointless because it will never happen in any fight and the laning phase will have ended long before the mastery is fully stacked.

That was my conclusion of this masterie. But a lot of people praise for it now since buff, im currently stalking discussion to see if anyone has anything conclusive

it's not bad

i feel like small minions/monsters should heal for a fraction of this at least once you have it fully stacked, that way you could take it for more than just the health gain

That still wouldn't really do anything for it since by the time you get it fully stacked in lane, the laning phase will probably be over

well, no, but the general idea would be that if you get low but don't want to back, you can go clear a wave or a few camps, heal some of your HP back up and you can be good-ish to go

maybe it grants a mini-warmog's passive when fully stacked? idk, there's not much for just a flat health gain outside of people who scale directly with health

at this point in the game this would be outshadowed by other sustain mechanics. and the lane phase is done already.

if they really want to improve this mastery, then make the % health heal trigger when an enemy champion in range dies.

Wait it didn't already do that?

Tank junglers just got an upgrade.

Tank junglers would be running Grasp of the underping over this anyway

Grasp is better in lane. It doesn't work against jungle monsters.

You don't take a mastery that gives you only 300 health in total on a role that stacks the shit out of health and defensive stats anyway, especially when there is a mastery that allows you to quite literally steal a percentage of the enemy's HP equal to a portion of your max health. and arguing that you don't take a keystone mastery because it doesn't affect jungle monsters is like saying you don't build thornmail against a team that is all AD because nobody on the team is Auto attack reliant.

100 armor is 100 armor, just like 3% of your max health (on a tank no less) is 3% of your max health in damage, and the value of that completely blows 300 health out of the water

I feel like it needs to be a percentage increase rather than just 300 HP.

If it was a 10% increase when fully stacked it would even out at 3k HP, but scale better when you get to very high HP numbers. I'd more than happily trade the shitty heal for actually having a decent amount of HP on the item.
