@Meddler Swain main looking for comfort

I have devoted quite a bit of time to swain, the bird-man bully with zone control and sustain damage. I love his kit, everything about it minus the art of farming melee minions under tower. I believe that the main reason for this rework is because of swains E and ult heal are both difficult to balance. His W is a weird part of his kit that is burst when everything else is sustain. I have no problem replacing passive(it really helps), W, and R. What I dont like is that riot will most likely take off his E. I hope i really hope you keep is new Q as the zone control and mechanic is very rewarding to skilled players while still being simple. Now about his E. What if you just nerf the damage, increase mana cost but add a scaling damage amplifier that all his abilities and autos benefit from. This would give him a clear weakness of cooldowns and mana since you would have to commit 2 spells for the harass to be effective which will hurt his already weak farming. That and he wouldn't be as obnoxious early since the mana gate, squishiness, and cooldown window would add outplay to his kit.
I love the fact that he is a sustained lane bully AP bruiser that can go mid, top and even support. I cant wait to see if riot adds a fear to his kit(perfect W replacement). But please keep his core identity with the DOT and laser beam, you could even add special effects(slow, fear, even sparkles for vision) for the first ability cast on targets with the E. I hope that they make swain more swain and less of a pet project or line skill-shot galore which I have seen much more of, which simply isnt swain enough. He is a tyrant that inflicts punishment to enemies, not a Quinn. Swain

In the road map after Urgot's release, they stated that they are basically building his entire kit from scratch. Most likely they will keep thematic stuff like his transformation to a bird monster, but most likely all of his skills will get changed.

Hence the post...

Well, you said that you want to keep his Q and E to some extent. That's why I mentioned it, chances are that they won't keep them and give him completely new skills.

Swain only needs a VU but Riot stopped doing VU's without gameplay updates because people "weren't appreciating them".

Basically Riot's going to delete your champ from the game because they're too cheap to give him a mere visual update.

I understand this the term they used was start from scratch but he really isnt a bad champ just annoying to lane against, not like aatrox who has little to offer besides the fact that no one plays him so they get a surprise factor, they did the same thing to xin and completely changed how he does his damage with a stupid self root. Swains playerbase is much larger than the old galio, yorick, urgot mains. But now everyone is abandoning him since this rework. He has a average play rate and a decent win % around 50-51%. He really just needs a VGU the gameplay is just to do it, while they could make it healthier they are just gonna gut it. I wanna know if this is a poppy level rework that is not needed at all, or a xin level rework where they just change a lil bit so all the work an raven timing doenst go to waste, he is aweful to farm with so this is really gonna suck.

TBH - I consider the E the least interesting part of his Kit - that should be implemented in a rework, but not as a spell.

More like a passive effect - aka when transformed deal increased DMG to all targets near you. To give him active zone of death rewarding enemys playing around it punishing enemys trying to fight inside it.

Somthing like that. ^^

But for real:

I have no problem replacing [...] R

Swain is R and R is Swain. Any so called VGU that does not allow Swain to transform and eat the enemy team is nothing more but another deleted Champion.

R is the most unbalanceable part of his kit due to the drain being either over or underpowered... remember the mini rework OMG so OP. I like the LASER BIRD its been his main ability and really is just good zone control and punishes enemies if used correctly. R since the 20 sec timer just really feels weak and is half of what it used to be. Also farming with swain is awful and really hurts when you use abilities to farm since your damage goes out the window and the ult really is underwhelming to farm with and usually just messes up your cs most of the time, but it also sucks cuz Ive really learned how to play with the timing and damage and it just kinda sucks to relearn it.

Well - I guess we can agree the rework was terrible. ^^ But despite that I dont think it's so impossible to balance Ravenous Flock.

Heals are always problematic and yes, riot never really shown any sign of a clue HOW to really balance them. ^^

Still I consider it possible.
