@RiotLyte How can you justify offensive language with a language filter in place
Lyte -
Edit: I'm not under a ban or suspension or anything like that. I'm just trying to understand the reasoning logically.
I'm asking specifically about punishing offensive language not verbal abuse, which to my understanding involves "punishing language that employs vulgar, obscene, sexually explicit, or racially, ethnically, and otherwise objectionable language."
Here is where I am confused: **By default, the language filter is enabled. You have to specifically go out of your way to turn it off and in doing so you are explicitly consenting to subject yourself this type of language. **
Thus, how is it possible that using this language is punishable? The main difference between offensive language and verbal abuse is that offensive language is not directed at anyone, correct?
Those that do not give their consent to view this language never see it. It becomes something like **** you **** ***** you are so *****, which in its censored form holds none of the above qualities (vulgar, obscene, sexually explicit, or racially, ethnically, and otherwise objectionable language).
The only justifiable situation I can think of involves going out of your way to trick the filter through improper spelling/spacing/etc. That I can understand. But the rest...
You either give consent or you dont. You either buy the edited version on itunes or you buy the explicit. It's your own choice to subject yourself.
