How much do you Value Flash as a Support?

I feel like it can be useful for picking off A enemy, but it feels like if I'm dead I'm dead Flashing to try and not die doesn't work all the time and puts you at a disadvantage as now you lack that ability for 5 minutes. Heal on the other handsummoner 7 It may not feel useful because your adc will probably have it too, but never use it to save you. This thing is made for supports man. I mean item 3504 that's a huge power spike for team fights. Especially in the "ad" meta we have right now. ( You don't need to be flashy to get the job done. ) Soraka Janna NamiLulu Because you need to survive to make sure your team mates survive. And they need to make sure you do.

Depends on which support I'm playing. I typically run Flash/Exhaust or Ignite/Exhaust. Some champs I can't get rid of flash on and some I can

I think it depends on what support you are taking. An aggressive alistar for example would benefit from flash moreso than a Janna. I think it also depends on your style of play.

the only time you don't take summoner 6 is when you have to take summoner 6

Really getting flash to work is a combination of reflex as well as judgement call. Obviously you don't want to waste flash if your going to die anyway, but too often do I find it life saving, and I feel like you should try and work on making those life saving plays.

And it's really that versatile that it can be used offensively or defensively.

Lastly, the thing with supports is, your not usually looking for a pickoff. (Unless your really fed) Your usually looking for lock down. If you lock down an opponent, that usually where they find themselves unable to trade flashes. But for those supports with those large AoE engages (I'm actually a Sona main) I can often save myself, simply using those engage tools defensively, saving me my flash, while my ult will have a much shorter cooldown.

I briefly experimented with ghost Taric long ago, but in the end flash is too good. Supports rarely get blessed with fancy mobility options, so it fills in that gap.

I currently play flash on all my supports, though I used to play exhaust/heal on Janna, and have fooled around with ghost Taric (didn't work). The only champs I regularly don't take flash on now are Sejuani (smite/ignite for early gank finishing, while Q gets me out of most situations if I'm careful), and ghost on WW.

Standard disclaimer: I'm a bronze scrub, what do I know?

I bring summoner 4 on sups who are either EXTREMELY squishy, or have one hit wonder abilities. If I'm playing Janna , I want it so I don't fekking die. If I'm playing Lulu , a flash ult can change an entire team fight. If I'm playing Nautilus , I may prefer summoner 6 to help me stick to enemies during skirmishes and team fights.

On Zyra I bring summoner 4 summoner 7 because early game you have one peel ability and I don't like getting into summoner 3 range.
